My nickname given by my mom: Sanju
My mom used to like Sanjeev Kumar, so on his name she gave me my official name Sanjeev Kumar.
In my native this name was long to call, people were habituated to call small names else they used to give different crazy name for thier own comfort.
Hence, my mom gave nickname from formal/official name Sanjeev to SANJU. Easy to pronounce and it was new and different in complete family or relation at that point in time.
