Honestly, I keep on reading such "special" wholesalers that I , nor anyone I personally know in real life, came across them. Not even those that have gone to study/work in Delhi (there's a chor market or something but only gets fake or non branded Chinese items at dirt cheap price), Mumbai, etc.

I do know and saw marwari businessmen (they're the majority here so..) giving special discount to marwari customers only in every NE major stores, and even separate sitting area in manikchand jewellery showrooms. Why? Well I can only guess.

Don't know about north east, but here in Bihar in tier 3 town, price is in same range 170-180.

No whole sellers sell at that price. I had personally visited in the whole sell gali many times before abandoning them for good. They get angry or ignore you if ask for such heavy as 50% discount at MRP.

Maybe they will consider if one buys in bulk but that's completely unnecessary for personal use.

Does Bihar have special economic zones or tax relief policy from govt, which some states don't enjoy? Or sellers in your state are genuinely nice and honest people? In any case, we're unlucky, the only such savings we get is from online shops. And now the delivery is lately getting bad, it's 50% chance of either getting good stuff or damage stuff 😔
