For all those people who think 650 to 625 is a downgrade should know that Qualcomm renamed 618 and 620 to 650 and 652 respectively.

Yes indeed. Normalizing for clock speeds SD652 delivers a smidgen under twice the single-threaded performance of SD625. Likewise the GPU perf. is 50% higher.
EDIT: It’s highly unlikely that it will launch with SD625 as Flipkart is promoting the phone as “lighting fast” which SD625 definitely ain’t.
SD 653/652 -= Performance, SD 625 = Better Battery life. If note 4 is launched with 625 it will be added to SD 400+ mid range soc variants. If note 4 launched with 652/653 it will be added most powerful mid range range soc. Period
My Redmi note 3(RN3) is so far better than this…No need to upgrade fr Redmi note 4.(in my opinion and market standards).
Better to wait for Redmi Pro or Mi Mix.

If you need to buy a phone, then Redmi Note 4 is the choice cause RN3 is not selling anymore right? But that Honor 6x looks better IMO. (Hope the price is right)

sd 625 is a good processor, slower than 650, but not a slouch either, certainly better than the 617. but dunno why are they launching slower phone as redmi note 4.
there r many options of course, but ppl here are missing one point, that no other oem gives updates like miui does. Also, forget updates, lenovo, le , honor etc have no custom roms, while rn3 have many stable nougat roms since weeks
Whats the point of constant updates if they dont bother to fix basic stuff. New updates come with new bugs besides reintroducing old ones. Case in point Redmi 3s’s well documented issues with 4G(personal experience). My faith in Xiaomi has been shaken.
Also the rumours abt SD625 dont make much sense since they also reference a 4GB RAM SKU which appears unlikely as Redmi Note 4 in China was launched in only 2/3GB versions. I would be love to be wrong though. Abt the RAM not the SoC obviously!
Redmi 4 in China is based on SD625. It think it would be SD653, since it is an upgrade over SD652

Does anyone think this is gonna launch with OLED display ala Redmi Pro? I know its unlikely in this price point(Redmi Pro was a fair bit more expensive as compared to Redmi Note series) and they would not have missed an opportunity to hype it up but still one can hope…
