Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 (2280) Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) (MZ-V7S1T0)

Is amazon listing of 3,500 Mb/s correct for 970? I thought 980 gives 3500 Mb/s and 970 is around 1500 Mb/s. 

Please correct my understanding.

This is 970 plus. 980 is a downgrade to this in every way.

Yes it is correct, I am using this ssd from 8 months and 3500mb/s is correct.

sn570 was 4.6k last sale i myself bought at 4.85k without bank discount, sn570 is still the best bang for buck nvme for its price not to mention it has better score than 970 plus in pcmark quick & full drive benchmark (near real world benchmark)

ps. before someone asks how on earth a dram less drive(sn570) outperforms a dram ssd (970 plus), u can clearly sees 980 (also dramless) outperforms both while priced higher as well, its the newer controllers which makes the killing in real performance even without dram both in the case of wd and samsung

Yeah! Similar impressions in my mind , might have read somewhere. Thats why i had that doubt. But real world only ppl can tell using 970 plus and 980.

This is a top tier gen 3 ssd with DRAM, 600TBW of endurance, 5 years warranty. this is one of the best OS drives.

if you want a gen 4 ssd you can get adata s70 blade 1tb for 6k.

if you want to just park data then just get a dram less nvme ssd like 1tb silicon power a60 or kingston nv2 or crucial p3 for around 3.8-4k INR. prices of nvme have crashed so much that it doesn't make sense to buy a sata m.2 or sata 2.5 inch drive as the prices of those drives are same or in some cases more than nvme gen 3 ones.

i am getting pcie nvme add in card and nvme enclosures for putting more drives. there is no such thing as too much storage. games, movies, media will keep getting bigger and better.

870 is a 2.5" sata SSD and is not compatitble.

This SSD should be the perfect fit and is also compatible with your Mac.
You just need to buy the M.2 NGFF adapter along with it.

I have a 1tb SN570 too and performance is painful for hundreds of gigs of file transfer. That's a big comprise when just a thousand more can get you really nice DRAM SSDs. 

I could have gone with another SN570, but I didn't and I was glad. Just a little more money spent upgraded my experience to more than desired levels.

Either will do as difference won't be noticeable if you intend to use it for movies and games.

There is 800 RS difference between both ssds. Samsung is 5999 and sn570 is 5199

This depends mostly on usage - if you do lot of video editing and similar stuff and this includes lot of copying and pasting then go with WD Black - https://www.amazon.in/Western-Digital-WD_Black-...

SN570 is DRAM less & this means if you lot of copying and stuff, the speed will drop and will be nowhere to advertised speed.

With your current usage you may go with SN570 but Samsung will be a better option considering your usage pattern would change in future.

I use normal sata hard drive for transfer of movies and games. In current dell 7 years old laptop i get transfer speed of 50mb/sec avg speed
