Note: i5-1235U in this model is a 10-core chip (2 performance + 8 efficient) while i5-1240P is 12-core (4 performance + 8 efficient)
how about adding another 10-12k and getting a Dell inspiron with FHD+ screen, 1240p i5, Full HD cam
Can't believe I bought acer swift 5 (11th gen i5 and just 8 gigs of RAM) for 70k a year ago. Laptops prices sure has corrected a lot.
Asus Vivobook 14 i5 12th gen 16+512 with 2.8k OLED display at 58k a better buy!
@guest_999 Looking to buy that s14 Asus laptop & S7 tablet. How frequent is the issue reported & after how much time after using the device? My brothers/cousins have premium OLED TV's & they are particular about quality. Are TV's also affected by burn-in?
OLED screen burn-in is inevitable, only question is whether it becomes noticeable before the device itself stops working. Asus has given protection feature of "pixel shift" which is enabled by default on oled models in MyAsus app settings. Asus claims it will reduce burn-in issue by quite a degree so users shouldn't notice it for the typical device lifetime(aka at least 3-4 years). Earlier OLED TVs are much more affected by burn-in because of no such protection feature as "pixel shift" but I think nowadays oled tv also come with this feature.
The current asus oled laptops were only introduced in market last year so it will take at least 1-2 years more for the verdict to come out whether pixel shift helps & how much are they affected by burn-in.
P.S. pixel shift or not, on oled laptops do try to use as many dark themed software as possible & keep screen brightness around 70% or below for the majority of time. Make sure to not have high contrast static images like bright white icons on dark black background for long time(say windows background dark but some software icon/windows button is white).
