After paytm pulled off its fast tag service, lot of us were struggling to get new fast tag at lowest / no cost.
I got SBI fast tag today for my car, which is issued free, without any security deposit or min bal requirement.
I also did activation today.
The SBI link is provided in this deal.
You need to register first on website (under "customer online registration" menu" ) by providing /verifying mobile number and PAN number.
Then after logging in to website, you need to purchase tag under menu "customer online add tag" menu. Here you need to give vehicle details , vehicle photo and RC card photo and pay Rs 200 (for car) . This entire 200 will be credited as a fast tag balance to use. So no extra cost at all. (No tag issue cost, no sec deposit, no min balance requirement)
Once you receive tag by speed post , you can activate tag under menu" online tag issuance acknowledgement " by entering speed post tracking number. You can see balance of 200 loaded under your fast tag after activation... Thats it.

The process is simple and straight forward. Only thing is the time taken by speed post to reach destination. In my case it took week to deliver it.

How to get it without having any vehicle ?
Why do you want fasttag if you dont have vehical? There is no toll for walkers (as of now) who pass thru toll gates..
By the way, I m curious if dimers find any smart trick to earn with fast tag ..😄

Sbi fastag balance usage apart from toll tax?
Nothing against the deal. But one of my colleague had applied for SBI Fastag on 22nd March and he is yet to receive it. On checking on the SBI Fastag website, it shows fasttag printed but the tracking details are not present. When he contacted SBI Fastag customer care, they gave him an email I'd and ask him to share his concern through that. He sent the email some 3-4 days earlier and still waiting for the reply.
In my case it took 2 working days to approve and then 3 working days to get it shipped status. I received speed post tracking details on sms and then a week to receive it.

sbi fastag worked well at various toll booths. Each time got sms regarding the toll deduction and balance.
Recharged on sbifasttag website working well.
Tried to recharge on amazon, its gone on pending confirmation from bank status..
i got the fastag but regret it! their website is so bad. I already felt it was a bad idea....typing that captcha everytime is annoying as it is. anyone else feel the same way?
You need website only for recharge. I save login n password details in chrome so only enter captcha when I need to recharge. Toll deduction and balance you get on auto sms..

What to do?
You get courier details by sms after tag is approved and despatched. Its sent by speed post. Once you receive the tag, you need to punch in tracking number under acknowledgement menu.
Hello, before activating the tag received by speed post I recharged my fastag. May be, but not sure, because of this the tag under menu" online tag issuance acknowledgement " did not show me to supply the speed post tracking number. Consequently I am in great trouble!! Though I have more than sufficient balance it shows low balance in my NHAI "My Fastag" app and the toll plaza is not allowing my car to pass through. I am trying to contact SBI, 1033 etc. but no help yet. Any idea?
How do you recharged it ? Because on sbifastag website, it wont show up for recharge, unless activated/ acknowledged.

Thanks, I recharged by PhonePay, and GooglePay. It went fine, without any problem. But the NHAI "My fastag" app showed low balance even then. That is why the Dhulagarh toll plaza did not allow me. Last two days I chased SBI fastag on phone and helpline using email. This morning they activated " online tag issuance acknowledgement " and I could use that. Now the NHAI "My fastag" is showing "active" .... hope this is OK. Thank you so much.
it has already been nearly 10 days and till now I have not received the fastag delivery or speed post reference to my mobile. any thoughts of how to escalate this please
