MIUI already received 4.4.2 updates ! So even if its not 4.4.2 out of the box you will get an OTA to update to the same !! Why are guys fussing about whats mentioned @flipkart . Checkout the MIUI forums for specific updates ! 4.4.2 is already out !

Bro, its just a piece of information – not everyone here knows correct forums to refer for required information. Most of the people on DD (including me) were not even aware of xiaomi and now you are talking about MIUI which I am sure more than 90% must have heard for the first time (again including me).

MIUI is a custom ROM which Xiaomi phones run . It is android core level + Skinned + Customized with their own features .
Samsung > Touchwiz
HTC > Sense
Huawei > Emotion
LG > Optimus
Sony > Xperia UI

All these are the names of their own customized Android skins !! Similarly Xiaomi runs MIUI .
the difference is MIUI is not limited to only Xiaomi phones . Its available for a number of other devices which their poring teams support. And many other devices which are unofficially ported by tech enthusiast. it is one of the most popular ROM’s out their in Custom ROM world .

MIUI , Cyanogenmod , AOSP , AOKP , Paranoid Android , Slimkat , Omni ROM , Vanir etc etc !! there are plethora of custom ROM’s out there !!

MIUI follows its own cycles ! There are two branches of MIUI :-

1) Dev version :-
This is the developer version and updates are released every Friday which is called as "Orange Fridays ". These versions have considerable bugs as features are still under development and bugs are fixed continuously. Not advisable to be used as a daily driver unless you are a dev.

2) Stable channel :-
This is what is to be used as a stable environment. Updates are released every 3rd Wednesdays (Wacky Wednesdays ). The new features (they take huge input from the community !) are constantly added and bugs are fixed and stable updates are pushed.

Imp Point if you love rooting and experimenting with your device :-

MIUI officially provides the capability to acquire ROOT access (through APP Security) without making your warranty void ! This is because they promote users to experiment with their devices and one of the core ethos of MIUI !

Bro, MIUI was quite popular among the people who used play with their rooted phone.:-P

I had read somewhere few days back while reading a review that the 64 Gb version is not available outside China….

Could you revert where did you get the 64Gb version? I am using MIUI custom ROM on my Note and simply love it…the 16GB is too less and i wish to buy the 64GB version..

I have a pantech brust phone which is installed with MIUI rom I am using that for more then a year . Frankly speaking Xioami has redefined the android. Every third grade company getting cheap hardware from china and just installing android and selling it . They are the first u make a much better rom out of it . In fact u can go to there forum and request any feature u want from the update .

But do they even have quantities to supply such scale of demand !! if not then what is the purpose of registering early or late in the given window !! SamDung : Galaxy R becomes dead after updates but samsung denied it. Also S3 Note 2 S4 had flash memory problem which samsung recalled mobiles in china because of authority pressure but not in India.

All dimers should note one thing here. Upon registration, you get confirmation only on their page. No confirmation on mail or never know how they are going to offer.
If it is open for all registrations, a similar situation will prevail when Moto E was offered and their servers went for p***ing. Wasted not only time, money(struck up and later refunded/credited back) and resulted in frustrations…
Now you know only that you are registered and they haven’t told as to how they are going to offer the instruments.
