I have noticed most brands 5 star 1.5T AC has more cooling capacity compared to 3 star .
Which brand did you finally go for and how much did it cost? Online or offline? @bikidas2060
Cooling capacity 5000w min
Preferring inverter model
Convertible mode is preferred
Budget less than 40k. So no Mitsubishi or o general
I have an 18 year old Hitachi which still runs great.
I know Lg 3stars have 4400 watt cooling capacity. I won't be taking it.
Daikin does not have convertible mode.
Voltas has no 5 year warranty on PCB.
I am left with
The retailer is asking to take Carrier but he is insisting to give the display unit. Is it wise to buy display unit?

3 star 1.5ton Daikin FTKT. It costed me 35k. 🙂
My LG convertible AC makes no difference even when run it at 40%. Keeps consuming same power. Has anyone else noticed this. Mine is 3 year old 1 T inverter split LG.

@drupal - Samsung is giving 1+ 4 years extended warranty on PCB currently - so good deal!
Please post link where it is mentioned?
looking for same, let me know which one you decide finally @bikidas2060
Daikin ftkt
Panasonic is good. Has all the features like Wifi etc etc. If you don't want complexity of wifi & all, then go for Daikin, Hitachi , LG all are very good. Keep in mind with wifi & stuff it is cool to use but there will be high cost if any replacement made in future. Mitsubishi & Ogeneral are too costly to buy.
@Rosh_0007 bhai, thanks
Purchased Panasonic 1.5 ton 4 star rating one at 36000
Cooling is powerful, suggested to go for it
Offline or online? Model?
I am in need AC urgently. Need it for classroom 150 sq feet. Immediate suggestions are welcomed for best deals at present
I am compiling a list. I ll post it either today or tomorrow along with a proper buying guide.
Panasonic and Daikin are best in terms of cooling and performance always choose Japanese companies for Ac's
Why no one suggesting Onida ? Anything wrong with it ? My 1st Onida ac is now 14 years old. Still running good with least maintenance. I have to purchase new ac & of thinking to buy Onida again. On flipkart after card offer it comes to 27.5k. This one.
https://dl.flipkart.com/dl/onida-convertible-5-in-1-cooling-1-5-ton-3-star-split-inverter-ac-white/p/itmf5b57166fffe6?pid=ACNGY3SHPHCETKAS&cmpid=product.share.pp&_refId=PP.83b97b5a-bed6-4a3f-b952-38211f0188d1.ACNGY3SHPHCETKAS&_appId=CL
https://www.onida.com/air-condi...er
This official site does not give basic specifications for the acs they sell. Same goes with Carrier. That's why I have not recommended Onida. 🙂
Buy Samsung from Corporate website of Samsung amazing offers going on there for AC.
FYR -- 1.5 Ton 5 star convertible 5 in 1 with WIFI is available around 40k ( After bank discount of 3500 on ICICI card for 3 months no cost EMI )
I bought a 1.5 ton 5 star Convertible + Windfree with Wifi model at 43.5k effectively ( including bank charges and GST on interest )
Good things with this model are use of AI for energy savings. Additionally easy to clean filters.
Samsung 5 star is good as it directly runs on solar but only 1 year warranty on PCB
Samsung should learn from bluestar
Bluestar 10 years warranty on compressor
5 Years warranty on PCB
80 months warranty for everything offer running now
Found this link for samsung ac users to avail 5 year warranty on PCB by filling below form
https://www.samsung.com/in/microsite/convertibl...
But it requires coupon which means it's paid warranty
Convertible mode is just a marketing gimmick.Go for 5 star inverter AC with higher ISEER rating.
I want to know whether I can return non functional AC with Flipkart while buying new AC under exchange process
You can go with Panasonic
Problem with Daikin?. I have issue with its bad plastic quality of IDU.. Flaps are flimsy & will break over time. But ODU is still better then most other brands...
Convertible mode is a gimmick... Being an inverter AC it can automatically increase & decrease cooling capacity based on set temperature & heat load of the room. Why would you want to lock the cooling capacity manually...
Panasonic 1.5 ton best, I have just bought
I had 10 bluestar 1.5 to. 3 star inverter 100% copper split ac ( big indoor and outdoor unit) installed recently, they are offering a complete 80 months warranty on everything, except the gas leak is for 5 years. 5100w cooling capacity, cost me about 32000 per piece, installation is 680+ gst, ac is 4 in one convertible with digital display in indoor unit, cooling and airflow is very good, i was thinking of diakin but pcb problem comes often during use. hitachi is also good but they dont have display option and convertible options in this price, also no warranty on gas leak, rest 5 years.
If room is not too large 1 ton or 0.8 ton Inverter ACs are best less power consumption and compressor can run at lower speeds with less power consumption for prolonged hours of run
Panasonic 1.5 ton AC compressor+odu fan + idu fan = runs at 360-370 watts at lower auto speed,
If it's 1 ton or 0.8 ton compressor can run at 220-250 watts too
Bhai, For Good Budget AC, Stick to Carrier, Bluestar, Panasonic, LG, Daikin or IFB.
My experience so far with all these brands,
Carrier -
Versatile Brand, but in recent models I was not satisfied with the quality compared to what they used to deliver
a few years ago. Cooling and rest are good.
Bluestar -
Ultimate brand. Right now, they are celebrating 80 years, So, 80 months warranty and installation @ 680 + GST. Durability, build and performance are outstanding. You can go for this truly VFM.
Panasonic -
Not had a chance to own one yet, but wherever I felt these ACs, it's a bang! Very nice cooling and feels heavy-duty.
LG -
For LG, Only go if planning for the 5* models, their indoors are tiny in the case of the 3 stars and only 2-way swing. But 5* has comparatively high cooling capacity, a 4-way swing and a little large indoor unit as well.
Daikin -
No questions asked brand, but as your requirement of convertible mode doesn't suffice here, may be not an option. But do you think you gonna use the convertible mode? As most of people run AC on the full mode only. And being an inverter AC, it will not make much difference.
IFB -
A less popular brand in AC, but in my experience this one gives good competition to the Daikin, Carrier and Bluestar. I am using 4 units bought in steps in the last 8 years, recent one was a few months back. These are very sturdy and awesome machines which you can buy without any worries. Not a single issue faced till now.
So my final suggestion will be Panasonic, IFB, or Bluestart as per your requirements and preferences. All brands mentioned above are manufacturing their units in India, most of the rest are using Chinese compressors or components.
Link to IFB models please.
bro
5star + variable 40% inverter mode + 90v-300v voltage range aka stabiliser free support
is better as ur stabiliser free + leky bill savings will result bettr total cost of ownership
even at quiet mode if it supports u can achieve 0.1 kWh usage.
Which ac and at 0.1kwh only fans can run not compressor
Some suggestions of Models that fits the requirement stated above for the companies I can vouch for
Look into them both Online/Offline to get a gist of them

Coming to your Question -
Display air conditioners fall under the category of inactive display items (These are products placed on shelves for customers to observe, touch, and handle & rarely Switched on a few times )
A display piece is as good as buying a used one You need to make sure you're getting max% off on the best price they can offer for the Display unit and not on MRP
Also check the warranty includes replacement incase of any issue
🥶
If anyone is planning to buy inverter AC from Croma, I can help with a discount coupon: https://www.desidime.com/tradings/selling-coupo...
I will recommend Samsung.
We have two Mitsubishi (1.5 5 star) and two Hitachi (1.5 ton 3 star) in the house as well as a Samsung Windfree 1 ton 4 star for my bedroom. I prefer Samsung. I don't know how to explain but the way the Samsung cools is better than the Mitsubishi and the Hitachis. The Mitsubishi and the Hitachis will chill to the bone, even after setting the temperature to 26 degrees (the temperature I prefer) while I am really comfortable with the 26 degree temp. on the Samsung. Furthermore the Windfree mode is something you'll appreciate if you have a baby sleeping in your room. This Samsung hasn't been serviced for the last two years and it still performs flawlessly. We also have a really good experience with LG.
On the contrary, we have had a really bad experience with Panasonics. Replaced three of them in less than two years.
The retailer is asking to take Carrier but he is insisting to give the display unit.
Electronic be any TV Fridge washing machine AC Dont go for display units, you dont know for what time period has been used for display saying so reason i was given LG SmartTV display Unit and within warranty i had to change some components
I use both these devices to test whether my AC can run on DC power on or not
In this test samsung 5 star inverter ac passed but Panasonic 5 star inverter AC failed don't have other ACs to test
samsung AC directly runs on 3X 550 watt solar modules connected in series
I request other brand users please test your AC whether it can run on direct solar panels or not
In first picture it is 2000 watt, 220v ac to 110v ac converter
https://www.amazon.in/Chargeplex-Ignis-1500-Tra...
In second picture it's bridge rectifier to convert ac current to DC https://www.amazon.in/KBPC3510-Rectifier-rectif...
connect 110 v output to bridge rectifier ac points and then connect DC output ( green and red marked ) to your air conditioner power cord switch on your 220v to 110v converter now your ac will get around 150v DC, almost all air conditioner indoor units run on DC power even Panasonic ACs indoor unit runs on DC power but out door unit gives H11 communication error
Samsung 5 star inverter AC runs smoothly
Also tested both ACs at 110 v ac voltage and both ACs working fine with full power mode also beauty of inverter technology
Panasonic 5 star inverter air conditioner is good,
But if Voltas is providing free installation I will support Voltas
waise in 2024 Haier is expected to launch first branded solar air conditioner of india, It will be a great achievement and open door for branded solar air conditioners in India apart from other home appliances ac is most power consuming device and solar ac is the coolest thing to have with solar panels available at throwaway prices in india, best part of solar ac is you can run it simultaneously using grid and solar when solar produces less power it takes remaining power from grid for seamless operation Haier is already providing solar hybrid ACs in many countries and done enough R&D in solar powered ac segment, I expect other brands will be forced to launch solar ACs after Haier's successful launch in India
Voltas has no 5 year warranty on PCB.Wrong. Check Croma.
Voltas is running offer for 60 months warranty with free installation. There’s one thing which is not highlighted by the warranty: gas charges aren’t covered in 5 years warranty which cost ₹2500 + gst.
IMO : get voltas, get amc (6690/5 years) which covered 2 wet service every year and gas filling too.
In your budget 1.5 ton 3 star would cost 30-35k depending upon the card discount plus 6670 for 5 years AMC. Installation charges (1500+ gst =₹1770) is free till 31st March.
Ping me for any doubts: I just recently did a lot of research and bought 3 ac’s of Voltas for my new home.
Panasonic and Daikin are best in terms of cooling and performance always choose Japanese companies for Ac's
