10 yr old Laptop went blank all of sudden

My 2 year old macbook facing same problem 😔😔
Any solution, I tried in local but they can’t.

I got a new USB3 128GB pen drive and went to plug it in to my Asus laptop and it went blank.. Its badly made since the metal sticks out and if you even slightly bend it when inserting it into the USB slot it will short out the USB port.. The computer appeared dead.. Nothing works..

So I took it apart and pulled everything out, to reuse somewhere else and just for kicks reapplied the power brick and it blinked.. Pressing the power button turned it on.. everything still in pieces and slowely started hooking everything back like the battery.. It started working.. You not only have to remove the battery but also the backup battery for a few mins to reset the chipset.. Had to do it twice after that as well.. The backup battery is on the other side of the motherboard so have to remove everything to get to it. But at least it got working again.

You are referring to CMOS battery???

Check this. It’s in hp support portal.

Try adding external monitor if external monitor works then there might be driver issues or display is deffective
if external monitor also not works then try to long press [ f4 ] key for few seconds
if still no display then:
try BIOS recovery by following method >
Use these steps if you cannot see anything on the monitor:
Turn off the laptop
Connect the notebook to a power source using the power adapter.
Press and hold the Windows key and the B key at the same time while the computer is off.
While still pressing both keys, hold down the Power button for one second, and then release the Power button and the keys.
The power LED light remains on, and the screen remains blank for about 40 seconds. You might hear beeping sounds. Afterwards, an HP BIOS Update screen displays, and the BIOS update begins

A loose memory module also might cause your notebook to fail to start. To fix this, take the memory module out of the memory slot and then reseat it.

Sure, only one thing remains is to remove CMOS battery and try… It didn’t occur to me… Thanks bro

Since you have Intel HD graphics, nobody can fix your graphics problem, they ll just need to swap the motherboard

@vijkap201 apka Motherboard RIP ho gaya. So its better to purchase another laptop during republic day sale. Because original motherboard costs around 10k+.
Purchase another laptop and use these SSD, RAM in that.

He can use the SSD in the new laptop but not the memory modules as his current lappy most probably supports DDR2 rams…Latest laptops will come with DDR4 SO-DIMM slots so his old rams won’t be compatible with the current laptops…

Is it good way to replace old hdd with ssd and run simultaneously it with caddy hdd

format your memory card and insert the card in your pc or laptop using card reader
use iCare data recovery software use format recovery or deep recovery option and your data will be retrieved
save all chip data to your laptop and use the same chip to transfer data to your 7 inch 4.4 kitkat thing

I use these software for data recovery but didn’t work (see screenshots) …I didn’t formate the card yet … first formate card then use data recovery is correct procedure 😇

I am using iCare data recovery room from past 10 years it recovers everything

Obviously ssd which is the main point of buying it in the first place. Reason I prefer ssd in caddy is because hdd are very delicate & optical drive bay is not designed to hold a hdd so no matter what caddy is used the hdd will never be as physically secured as in its original slot which means more chances of micro shocks while moving laptop affecting hdd in the long run(say 1+ year). There is also a technical aspect where some laptop have power saving feature on the sata port present in optical/dvd drive bay which cannot be disabled & this might affect hdd functioning in the long run. Both these are non-issues for a ssd because they are much less prone to physical impact as hdd & being much power efficient & fast they are also not affected by any power saving feature suddenly kicking in between doing some data transfer.
