Fellow dimers from past few days i am receiving sms from sbi cards to link aadhaar with my pan card upon checking status on income tax website i found that currently my aadhaar is not linked to pan card also i have pay Rs 1000 as late payment if i want to link now so i want some help if there is some way to link those without paying anything.

Fine is compulsory. No other way. If you delay, post dec'22 or mar'23 not sure about the date.. the fine is Rs.10,000/-

How did you miss it, it was all over the news & here too. Link immediately by paying fine else you may end up not even paying bigger fine but some important txns at some critical time might also be declined.

not a fair approach 🧐...why government is charging too much....for linking aadhar with pan card.
It's very shocking that they're charging 1 thousand rupees just for documents linking

Aggreed 1k is a bit steep but they ran a massive drive to get it linked and not to mention many many deadlines extension

1000 late fee is too steep. It might be justified for those who intentionally delayed the linking (been 5 years since the first deadline*) but not everyone is active online + / does ITR filing. A lot of students assumed that this doesn't apply for them since there isn't any income source too (Govt cites "Section 139AA of the Income-tax Act,1961" for this mandatory linking). They should've opted for offline drives like they're doing now for Voter ID + Aadhaar linking but then somethings always got much higher priority in our country. For DBT schemes, aadhaar linking is mandatory and if someone is seeking benefits from govt through any scheme, they got notified regarding this and aadhaar seeding was done online or via local branches

Every newspaper covered for years + dept sent sms in no registered with pan + last 5yrs new pan already linled with adhaar cz u could not get new pan without adhaar/shops asked for adhaar for pan making + banks pushed it also

Govt extended due date to link both infinity no of times. And it can be done thru a sms also. Still some ppl think it is a loot, if govt charges for it now.

I do not understand why govt does not link directly and inform customers to get back if its wrong; very few might be having multiple PANs
or they can simply remove PAN itself so aadhaar replaces PAN
in 100Cr country all these redundant exercises are impractical, that too for unconstitutional aadhaar
if they give 500-1000 for linking then 90% linking would be completed in just a months time😄

They could simply put temporary hold on pan with aadhar not linked and wherever such pan is to be used take aadhar number along with it.
