You must do aadhaar biometric lock otherwise you could get fraud. Many cases of bank account money fraud in West Bengal has been done via AEPS withdrawal.
AEPS is a bank led model which allows online interoperable financial transaction at PoS (Point of Sale / Micro ATM) through the Business Correspondent (BC)/Bank Mitra of any bank using the Aadhaar authentication.

I once locked it and then was not able to unlock it. I had too mail them for continuous 2-3 months to get it resolved. This was 1 year back. At that time everyone was facing the same problem.
Maybe they have resolved this problem now, but can't say for sure.
U Can Unlock Easily Via uidai Website (If U R Unable To Unlock During Working Hours, Try Morning Or Evening). Now A Days Its Working Fine

Then you are gone ..

AEPS can't be done without you putting finger on the reader.
And every fingerprint reader used for AEPS are KYC verified and registered with the agent details which needs renewal at several interval i.e. once a year or more/less
I am trying to access the Aadhaar website and the Maadhaar mobile app to view/change a few things but every time it fails to load. uidai.gov.in Is it failing only for my n/w or to everyone? If we enable the biometric lock we have to be proactive in unlocking it before you are giving a thumb impression for registration or sim etc., And to do that the website and mobile app should be fully functional throughout the day but it hardly works. I seriously get frustrated when that happens what digital India is this?

For Locking/Unlocking through Online Portal/mAadhar, Mobile number seeding is necessary.
From Aadhar Offline Center, Mobile number is not required.
But it's recommended to add your mobile number and email in aadhar for the convenience.
Bro,even if you visit Aadhar Offline Center ,They do need your Thumb Impression which is Biometric and if you Lock it even they can't access it! So,it's a Blunder. I have researched about it and found out that in such situations you need to Visit the Regional Aadhar Center (Head Office) and complete some formalities then only you can access your Aadhar Without Biometric
