when you are updating, the form itself asks you what is the first, middle, and last names. Don't think much about how it appears on the card. Just use the first name in the first name field... because, If you give other way around then the future authentications will fail...

Hi Dimers
Anyone aware of what should be aadhar name format?
- Firstname lastname
- Lastname firstname
- Initial firstname
- Firstname initial
I want to update my aadhar name as it is in initial firstname format to name with full lastname
I'm confused with which format to update from below
Firstname lastname(prefer this if no issues)
Lastname firstname
Since name update is only one time.. i want to make sure to update the right one.
What's the format in your aadhar and what is the right format to update?
Thanks for help.

Which form are you talking about.. the online update form has only one field for name.

Which name format is using in ur certificate/pan/passport/birthcertificate ...? U have to submit proof ,if want to change ur name .!
Passport has separate fields for first name and surname.
Pan has separate fields as well
Where as aadhar has one single field for name. Hence the confusion.
My passport will be supporting document.
The format of name in Aadhar is no where found
Mine is First, Middle, and Last, and never faced any KYC/Validation issues so far.
FIRST NAME + MIDDLE NAME + LAST NAME
THE BEST COMBINATION, NO ISSUES IN FUTURE.
My is FIRST + LAST
If someone has middle name then FIRST + MIDDLE+ LAST
In India, if it isn't mentioned explicitly in any form, it is always "Firstname Lastname" and if there is a middle name then "Firstname Middlename Lastname"
