are you sure through this sms will work
pranavcool wrote:are you sure through this sms will work
Yes port will work on Rs99 pack
No other function will work like balance transfer or recharge using main balance
pranavcool wrote:no other choice?
Nope
₹99 is the only cheapest option as of now in airtel. Ported recently from airtel to jio using this method.

I also plan to port my airtel number which I only use to receive OTPs. But confused between BSNL an Jio. BSNL has a 397 plan which gives validity of 300 days with unlimited calls. Not sure if it will work with port in numbers.

In bsnl freebies like free calling is for 60 days only.

I hope 397 frc is available in bsnl.. but all the freebies (unlimited calls & data) are valid for only 60 days remaining days you will receive incoming calls only without any recharge.

Good decision.. but do remember to generate the port SMS 5-6 days before expiry of your plan.Don’t do it on the last 1-2days, it may have the chances of porting getting rejected.

Port code only Valid for 5 days bro… So do before 5 days…
Star_Chaser wrote:Port code only Valid for 5 days bro… So do before 5 days…
Not really required. I sent port message on last day of outgoing and was always able to get the same ported without any issues.

no issues , did many port on the last day of code expiry generated on last day of plan. Once we get port accepted sms with date of porting then current operator can’t deny
but not sure about postpaid port
One can start porting in incoming validity as well. Just that the porting code should be generated. I have done it and my sim had no incoming nor outgoing for a day. Wasn’t intentional but the Jio person had to cancel last minute. Sim started working at 11:55 in night.

For postpaid you have to pay in advance for the 2-3 days that new operator will take. So don’t they to delay porting in postpaid else the porting fails for high defaults. Jio did send me reminders for clearing the dues after porting.

What’s the charges for porting to jio here bro?
Star_Chaser wrote:Once ported…. It takes 3 days bro…
Outgoing is till 17th.
Generate Porting Code on 17th which is valid for 5 days.
Incoming will be there for next 7 days.
Go to Jio store on 21st to get the sim ported.
Your sim will have incoming for 2.x days depending on the time you recharged.
New sim will start to work on 3rd day.

I have ported before price hike.. so its ₹250 for 1 month and ₹400 for 2 months scheme. (airtel to jio)
Mostly they will charge 1month pack price.. some will reduce ₹50 from MRP.

Thanks for the info bro

I accept your statement.. but I have told with additional safety precaution incase of port rejection, user will have another chance to generate the code, else user need to recharge again for generating the port code.

As per my knowledge You can recharge any plan voucher( means validity voucher ) anytime except STV/COMBO/DATA/Topup.
