All! HDFC salary account holders kindly help. Salary Account Concerns: Unreceived Salaries, Account Conversion, and Steps to Protect My Account

I have an HDFC salary account that was opened when I joined an organization. They shared a unique link, allowing me to create the account online. I left that job in July 2023, and since then, I have not received any salary in the account. However, on December 14th, I received a message from HDFC stating that my salary for the month of November has not been credited to the bank. They specifically mentioned the month and warned that if this continues, my account will be converted into a regular savings account.

I haven't received any salary in that account for the last 5-6 months, but this is the first time I received any message from them. I regularly conduct transactions in that account, typically 3-4 times a month. These transactions involve sending money from another bank account under my name and using it to pay credit card bills through HDFC Bill payment.

Now, here are my questions:

1. Why did I not receive any messages for the other months, such as August, September, and October, even though there was no salary credit in those months as well?

2. What steps should I take now to prevent my account from being converted?

3. Additionally, I believe that the account will only be converted after 3 months. For instance, they will send messages for December 2023 and January 2024 as well. Therefore, I assume I will have time to withdraw all the funds before the account gets converted.

Since you left that job.  Close the account by yourself. else it shall get converted.  There's nothing you can do apart from this closing option.

In future if I will try to re-open account in HDFC then I believe I will have to visit branch as online account opening will not be allowed.

I had one account in SBI and I closed it, when I tried to again open a account in SBI using online account opening process, it did not allowed me and I had to visit branch and submit forms for new account opening.

I don't want to close this HDFC account because then in future I will have to take a lot hassle while opening a new account.

Also, I use HDFC billpay that gives me 1% cb on cc bill payment. That I don't want to loose, that's why don't want this account to be closed.

They don't have tracking mechanism to know salary is credited to account or not.

So u can just pay some amount from other account via NEFT. System will consider it as salary. I use to try this long back grinning no idea if it works now. But even if converted to saving account u can maintain MAB and close it whenever u want.

But then they will charge me for platinum VISA Debit card that they give to all salary account holders.  I heard they charge 750 as annual charges for debit card.

I will give NEFT a try cause till today I only sent money to that account using UPI.

Exact same type of message received..but my salary is getting credited to hdfc but while trying to update the employer I don't see my company name in the list confused

I contacted RM and she said check with your HR if your company has tie up or not, so today I sent one mail. RM also said from my side I still see your account has zero balance requirement and no conditions....so what to do now?
Shall I move my salary to icici ? In icici the employer name is showing in the list.

Also Earlier I was thinking to move to SBI , so went to branch on friday to reactivate my dormant account. after standing in queue for 45 mins they said to deposit ₹1000, I lost my patience simply went back to home
