Amazon prime video has degrades the quality of shows available. Please check if you faced the same.

I think previous highest quality consumption was 1.46GB/ hour.

Correct. Very bad video quality now a days. Best = 540p now a days. Forget about 1080p

Piracy is the best option now. I should have chosen Amazon shopping edition instead of this.

I hope they will sort things out as they replied on twitter.

0.46gb/hr means lower bitrate than youtube and youtube already kinda lowest

Previous highest was 6.84GB/hr.

Edit: Probably Widevine L1 has got downgraded to L3. There are various apps like DRM Info to check its status.

Guys before blaming Amazon, check your widevine first. It might be possible after software upgrade it’s downgraded to l3.

Here’s mine :

They have downgraded it only in Android, showing 1.82GB/hr for Android, same as O.P, and for iOS (iPhone), it is showing 5.8GB/hr. My phone is Widevine L1 certified. Maybe Amazon did it on purpose.

Until this issue is resolved you can try using Prime Video in web browsers. Don't know about Prime Video but Jio Cinema allows the highest video quality in web browser in a bootloader unlocked device (hence L1 downgraded to L3) but not in the app.

Is there any 4k content on jio cinema? I've been stuck with a 1080p TV for a very long time and contemplating if 4k is worth the upgrade
