Just got an email from AmEx about changes to their Gold Collection. This is relevant for people having or planning to get American Express Membership Rewards Card.
Quoting from email which came few mins back with title “Dear XYZ, Now enjoy new e-Vouchers with the Gold Collection.”
The Gold Collection is now richer than ever. Enjoy redemption of your accumulated Membership Rewards® points on these exciting new brands added in the 24K and 18K Gold Collection.
It is important to know that the options to redeem your points for Statement Credit of ₹9,000 and ₹6,000 for 24K and 18K Gold Collection respectively will be discontinued effective 3 May 2022.

it doesn’t make any sense why would one go for a 9k worth voucher instead of 7k voucher which gives better conversion ratio of 0.375 to 0.388 or am I missing something ? 😛

It depends on card user and where he/she is with spends. For eg. if one is closing the card or going to stop usage, may be will try to go towards 24K points and close the card (or stop using). But yes, the ones using it regularly will redeem at 18K and restart their journey for next collection.
I personally, aimed to go for stmt credit and 24K offered better value vs 18K, but now they are going to stop!

For all amex card users ,It is important to know that the options to redeem your points for Statement Credit of ₹9,000 and ₹6,000 for 24K and 18K Gold Collection respectively will be discontinued effective 3 May 2022. So if you have 18k or 24 k points , redeem them asap as statement credit before 3 may 2022

The Membership Rewards of american express has become very bad now?
I am unable to redeem as statement credit today. And I got a mail nobody in the world will be able to redeem the reward points for statement credit from 3rd May 😌
