Kisan Baburao Hazare, better known as Anna Hazare today started an indefinite hunger strike with a demand for the government to set up a Lokpal. He began his strike at Ramlila Maidan this morning – the same ground where his stir for an anti-corruption body seven years ago caught the country’s imagination. In 2011, Anna Hazare sat on a similar hunger strike for Lokpal or a national ombudsman. This time he has a new target. Previously, he targeted the then UPA government at the centre, and his anti-corruption movement had caught the imagination of millions of Indians. This time Anna Hazare’s target is the Narendra Modi-led BJP government, which has not been able to finalise a Lokpal to investigate cases if corruption.

timing is also best just 1 year for next election ,, if he get public support then either modi govt will agree on demands OR no more modi wave ..

Anna may be angry of kejriwal ,, but in last if AAP do try to settle it ,, then AAP+Anna andolan again can do magic like they did in 2011 …
If our PM not afraid of lokpal then why he not passing this bill .. this bill have nothing wrong .. also demand for farmers by anna are genuine ..
This time strike is more focused on farmers nd in India anything related to farmers is boring for media except they fire up themselves in any march…hence this time no magic wil happen

The Centre had reached out to Hazare, with its emissary and Maharashtra minister Girish Mahajana assuring the social-activist that most of his “demands will be taken care of”.
Although the first two days of the protest saw very few protesters joining him at Ramlila Maidan, but the third day was better for Anna’s revamped India Against Corruption Movement.
Hazare’s demands include appointment of Lokpal at the Centre and Lokayuktas in states, and giving better prices to farmers for their yield.
