Anyone got SBI Elite AMEX card ?

I have a SBI Elite VISA varient ,
can we change to Amex varient by calling the Customer Support ?
When enquired ,one support agent is saying ,Amex one is not yet launched ., second one told me to apply it online ,we can not change to VISA to Amex.
