I ordered books on Amazon and Flipkart after years last week and both of them delivered counterfeit roadside quality books. All of them were Amazon Fulfilled and Flipkart Assured. Never had this problem until 2020 when I used to order a lot of books on these sites.
All brands reply to quality concerns. Atleast fmcg and consumer brands do.
Don't accuse the retailer, just ask them to confirm if the batch code is fine and retailer is authorized. The brand would confirm the batch code immediately and forward the issue to your local distributor. Then he would confirm about the retailer. These things are comparatively easier in cities because of more awareness and lesser proximity between the distributor and retailer. But no harm in giving a try. Just send them an email, you can move on if they don't reply, not worth wasting time but a try is worth it.
