I have never taken Drugs, alcohol, smoking for recreational purposes. My father used to smoke. He smoked like a steam engine for 30 years. He has quit since a long time. He had covid. Man, his lungs gave up. He will sit in the middle of night gasping for air. His o2 sat would drop to 75 for couple of seconds. Then it would go back to 93-94. Thankfully couple of doses of Prednisone worked like a charm. But his sugar level shot up till 493. Then he had to use Mixtard 30 to reduce it to a normal range. Now he is taking anti diabetic meds.

Even left therapy midway. Well actually back then therapist herself had to leave India so she had to pass on the baton.

My mother’s younger brother was addicted to all types of Alcohol, Gutkha, Kaini, Pan Parakh etc. Then had Ulcer. After that Diabetes. But couldn’t overcome addiction and continued all those habits. Finally died in 2017 at the age of 41.
