I ordered this Rs900 asian-paints-royale-health-shield-clear-soft-sheen on Saturday08:00am and cancelled on same day 05:00pm.

They took the cancellation request and cancelled and provided me refund at 05:00pm on Sunday. However on Sunday 09:00pm they shipped the order and now it came yesterday.

I initially told them that it has to be returned but they are attempting the delivery again. So what should I do, should I take the product?

What are the consequences of keeping this cancelled product? Is product really worth Rs900

If they have provided you the refund, that means they are no longer interested in the product to be returned. Possibly due to the fact that the consumer may have opened the paint bottle/tin or the return shipping cost is more than the product’s cost. I feel it should be safe whether or not you decide to use or discard the product.

P.S. I have no idea about the worthiness of the paint and the price that you bought it for. I have never tried painting myself and have always used the services of the painter for that job.

though your query is about what to do, i am a bit curious (and confused) who the ‘they’ are. could you please clarify?

isn’t ₹900 the printed price (M.R.P.)?

being a premium brand, it becomes subjective to answer Is product really worth Rs900, because it is not even an actual paint/ colour.

if purchased from Asian paints own site, then they would not be much at loss, maybe they would claim it from insurance or the logistics partners. or else absorb the opportunity loss of having refunded and also delivered the item.

If bought from a marketplace.
If item was seller fulfilled but delivered by Amazon/ Flipkart/ Snapdeal then seller would be refunded.
Marketplaces hardly get impacted by such ‘loss’, as their focus is not on financial profits but at market share and market expansion.

consequences on your account with the company/ site: not much if you have adequately updated them about stop and return.
Say if you refuse the parcel and the delivery person marks it as delivered and sells it or disposes it.
Then too company might assume it is with you.
If you do not keep it, it may not mske your account any better, if you keep it it may not always result in an adverse report on your account if they or their logistics partner failed to communicate.

consequences on one’s own conscience, is for the person to decide themselves (you to devide on your own).

consequences on one’s own wellbeing or that of family: elders used to say and even present generation elders say: that ‘kar bhala tou ho bhala’ and ‘kar bura tou ho bura’ .. As shall you sow so shall you reap.
Personally, even if i do keep something or exchange something to ‘punish’ some big business (make them realise their folly) and try to offset it with some timely.. unencumbered ‘gupt daan’ or normal help to any needy (unencumbered as in, no transacting with Income Tax Dept. / Section 80G etcetera and not transacting with Almighty.. that if you do this/ bless us then i do this/ so and so donation).
