Bad behaviour by HDFC bank staff

I visited to hdfc home brach yesterday for account closure. They just asked me reason for account closure & took my signed in the application form. They told me that their main employee is not present at branch who managed account opening/closing so there will be delayed in closing account. It will take 2~3 hours so keep the fund in the account until we call you to withdraw funds from the account.
I didn’t receive call & message from the branch, so I withdrew total balance. Since, my home branch around 15KM away from my home, so could go to branch again, also had no contact number of branch so that I can inform the bank branch that I had given account closure application. May be they I have forgotten to close. So I complain on tweeter mentioning that my account was not closed yet.
After few hours, I received call from that branch a guy started behaving rudely. Kehta apna documents koi submit nhi kea to kaise account close kre. Maine bola ki mijse koi documents demand hi nhi ki gayi to kaise deta ye apko mangna chaye, agar apne bhool gya tha manga mujhe call krte dete mai akar submit krdeta. Wo insaan bolta hai aap branch q nhi aye ki mera account close nhi hua abhi tk tweeter or compliant q kea. Basically wo mujhpe manager ka gussa nikal rha tha. Maine bola ki mai tera naukar nhi hu jo baar baaar 15km branch au. Tujhe bnd krna hai to bnd kra otherwise I don’t care. Now he politely told me to email pan card to his email address. I sent my pan card & them after 2 hours they have closed the account.

Always take acknowledgment or stamped/signed photocopy of application submitted

I hold credit cards SBI, ICICI, Kotak, Indusind, HDFC. I don’t wanted to have multiple bank account. Just want operate 2~3 banks accounts only.

Even. My father wanted to close HDFC Current A/c and he already completed all the procedures still bank employees don’t know how to proceed further.so,we submitted an application in October 2020 and now when I again asked they told its gonna take again 8 days!

dont hold yourself in making them inline
customer care has to be polite if it is not make them inline else they will make it a norm to talkwith others too , also one bad fish will pollute other too
i personally have made many customer care guys straight inline by teaching them who is lion in the jungle of bad words and attitude
You are right, the bank manager behaved very politely. I had never thought HDFC staff can talk rudely with customers instead of address queries.
HDFC is the worst bank ever. Their services are DOGSHIT

For closing account they’ll feed you all type of crap reasons but be adamant and always take receiving in written.
If you raise a complaint on Survey form / Twitter or any written mode of communication, their reps and concerned manager is responsible to answer and resolve it.
I went to deposit money 6k in my Dad’s account (Sr Citizen) – Preferred Account Holder and cashier tells me you will be charged for 3rd party deposits. I asked them can you explain the reason for having Preferred group? You are asking senior citizens to come to branch to deposit money? He said can’t help with the policy. I deposited in my account and then transferred to my Dad’s account. Next day in the SURVEY I mentioned their misbehaviour and questioning them of having Preferred account. I got a call with an explanation and apologies, stating I can deposit 1L at a time without charges.
Bank cashiers are not aware of their own policies (what is chargeable, to whom) and they are made to sit and collect money.
It is very easy to find dumbest people of our country. Visit a bank or call customer care of bank / credit card, you will find one. I am not saying all are same, some very intelligent too,for that matter my previous RM Junaid was a brilliant chap!
Long time back I had a account with HDFC bank.I joined a new company and asked HDFC Bank to convert my account to salary account as per company policy. I submitted all required documents. But bank staff told me to convert account to current account as there are lot of transactions ( travelling allowance and some other allowances were being sent by company).
I told them that is why salary account is needed but they refused and threatened to impose fines and charges. I asked them to give in written that I need to convert my savings account to current account the matter was settled there only they backed off.
Once my CA friend told me that in bank you always have upper hand if bank’s staff is notorious you should ask them to give in writing and if they don’t give in writing you write a application (2 copies) submit and take acknowledgement from them they will always fall in line.
It’s the same with most banks,
If you ask in written, all their attitude goes away.

Sbi is bad, but HDFC is very bad.
Four days ago, I used my millennia dc around 2 AM. After the transaction, they sent me sms that they couldn’t reach me so they have blocked my card for security reasons.
I thought it will be automatically activated after 24 hours, so didn’t bother and used other bank cards till now.
In the evening today, I was paying on some website and put in millennia dc details, it wasn’t active. I had to call those mf’s to make it active.
