Hi all!

Need your suggestion for best file manager app available in market and which one do you prefer personally?

According to me it should have the following features(basic users)  :

  • Easy navigation
  • Easy functionality to replace extension/rename /view images.
  • PDF snap view (optional) without opening the file
  • Additional tab or additional pane this is MUST for me as I have hundreds of documents, occasionally scattered in phone, helpful to rearrange files  between folders (drag and drop), copy, paste etc.
  • Wifi FTP (optional, but preferable )
  • Adfree app preferred
  • Lowest possible apk size with above features
Do share your favourite file manager app.

I am yet to find a app with all the functionality. Earlier used ES file Explorer, unable to find original app(lot of apps with similar names)

I have been using Solid explorer for more than 4 years and in my opinion it's the best file manager app

It's very good but it's built-in text editor completely chokes when it comes to very large text files, greater than 1MB IIRC so I gave a try with Mixplorer which was equally good if not better. Also the FTP feature in the former hasn't worked for me in a while.

Solid Explorer.. tried many but nothing beats it.

Two panes side by side drag and drop etc. Shortcuts at bottom for copy/cut files. And customization for colors... icons ...

Yep, the app removed from play store a long back due to security concerns. I'm still using this app on my phone, just disabled the background activity, removed the permissions which are not useful for app and use it when necessary. In parallel, I'm also using the default Google file explorer app.

I use solid explorer paid version from last few years. Best file manager in playstore.

Don't know about the free version though. I bought it few years back. It was worth the money for me.

If it is showing as free, try it.

Tx will check it out. KG
