Pixels per inch is a more accurate representation when talking about screens. Most of us can easily spot pixels in a 720p display of 6 inches. Few people can even spot pixels in 1080p displays. I think a 1080p display is bare minimum in 2020 unless the display is of great quality like we have in iPhones.

suggest go with Redmi, Poco or Samsung. My personal preference is Redmi phone as this will be one time buy from his hard earned money, Redmi/MI phones are usually long lasting for 3+ years without any issues. Samsung is good but tech specs are usually lower than Redmi phones. Poco is also great is specs and sibling of Redmi
