Sorry to say unless there’s a thorough demonstration of cross testing between a medical grade oximeter and the said bands, one cannot judge its accuracy. Go to YouTube and check whether anyone uploaded video of your desired band from the above list and compared it with a oximeter. That’s why I bought the HB5, as it was shown to be on par with oximeter readings.

A general consensus is though Xiomi products are poor for heart rate accuracy itself, cannot imagine how the Spo2 would be like.

Nutshell: Buy a smartband if you so wish but never for blood oxygen measurement.

sorry but ny understanding of these things is zero (not near zero, but complete zero).

once someone had suggested to a relative grandma that she should be made to wear some band to check if she has sound sleep or tosses and turns or wakes up often.

i just came by your post, si decided to ask.

these ‘whatever’ straps (i do not know too many jargons here/ names of the category)..
… simply by remaining in contact with body/skin (but not necessarily always in lab like ideal settings) .. these give vitals?

i tried looking up HB5 but did not get much. then i went to GSMArena.com and
it seems to be some ‘Honor’ branded product.
these things have a display …convenient enough to even read messages sent to the phone😮! wow!

so it is not too heavy or distracting at night (for senior citizens) despite whatever instruments it has?

so saying it has better battery back-up (usable time) than its predecessor, version 4. others saying it has ‘only’ 8-9 hours.
are these things expected to have 15-20 hours or more of usage times🤔

Spo2 on band/watches aren’t that accurate, don’t relay on those in these testing times.

Let me inform you something, at least my experience with the concerned product here, the Honour Band 5. It’s absolutely a useless piece of garbage in respect to tracking sleep, or measuring footsteps. It’s highly inaccurate for sleep tracking, you can wear it and watch a 3 hour movie (or activities similar wherein you remain idle) and provided your heart rate is below 70 in during the time the band will show you that you have had a 3 hour sleep. As a step counter, it under counts almost always. I used to take a 5 km walk and it would show me 3.5 km almost every damn time.

I bought it for the SpO2 mainly (after YouTube videos showing its on par with other medical grade oximeter) and also the heart rate. I measure them 3 times a day. The heart rate sensor is very very accurate. SpO2 I cannot confirm. Additional features like you say, able to read a text on the band’s display, or just see who is calling right on the band (I’m one of those who never take the mobile out of the pocket unless for a phone call when I’m outside and mine is always on vibrate) with that faint yet very much felt vibration, love it, very convenient.

If you need accurate sleep tracking then consider Fitbit products. They are said to be very accurate for sleep tracking. But obviously very expensive. If you need ECG/ heart rate related data and alert when your heart rate is not consistent then obviously the Apple Watch. You know the price of it. There’s another brand called Polar, which comes with chest straps and said to be the most accurate for measuring heart rate, stress level etc. But for sleep tracking alone the Fitbit should work (not sure which exact model though).

There’s a guy who reviews these products and compare them with one another in a very very thorough manner, an European with a doctorate or something. Late 30s with glasses, I forgot the channel name. I’ll try link you to the same at late night.

Nutshell: These Chinese products are exactly what they are supposed to be. Trying to do everything but at the end of the day not able to do anything properly/ perfectly. But for what I paid for the HB5 (1999) I’m more or less happy with it, not that happy that I will recommended this to someone who is serious about health though.

If you need spo2 monitoring during these tough times and not ‘good to have’ feature i wouldn’t let my life depend on on these bands. Go for proper device like dr. Trust professional series. For normal fitness bands purpose mi band5, oneplus/oppo band are good. Again dont buy them to rely on their ‘accurate’ spo2.
