How to disable/block the advt on a new MIUI 12 based Redmi phone? Is there any list or article, I remember some people telling that its possible to disable all unwanted advt/push

Use above settings or else download Blokada app from google (not play store) and it will manage ur dns. Also go to settings of all system apps i.e. file manager/security etc and disable recommendations from there 
PS: I am on miui11 so check in 12, it should be same

Go to Setting >> Connection & Sharing >> Private DNS
Custom dns—> dns.adguard.com
Save & Enjoy.
