BSNL landline, how many days after bill generation does it take for disconnection?

I get billed monthly, so instead of paying every month, I thought I will wait till next months bill get generated and pay current month together with next month, like once in 2 months.

But what happened is, 5 days after the bill got generated, I started receiving automated voice call reminders by robots, multiple times a day, both on the land phone and the mobile. When I keep the land phone down, my mobile starts ringing immediately. From different numbers, so even if I block one, the next call is from another number. BSNL was not running short of new numbers for their reminder calls. Eventually it turned into a nuisance and I paid it off immediately.
