Canara Bank Debit Card / SMS Charges From 13th Feb 2023

Ridiculous! ₹500+GST=₹590. Now no one will take RuPay Platinum cards in Canara.

According to this PDF: https://canarabank.com/UPLOAD/NewsImage/IOB1679... Replacement card charges for existing customers to Classic/Standard debit card are nil.

Can anyone find this out from their Canara Bank branch? If RuPay Amazon offer ends on Add Money, the Platinum variant can be replaced with Classic/Standard variant with "nil" fees.  

1. Can we operate canara bank account without debit card? SBI allows to operate bank account without any debit card. 

2. Can we permanently block debit card to avoid these charges?

Will canara bank automatically replace the debit card once we permanently block the debit card in their app?

Any one who has recently blocked canara bank debit card through app Or website any charges on this

canara bank website - there are 2 options block and hotlist debit card which one to select for permanent cancellation of card

Canara has charged 177 for hotlisting debit card

Good news. Today Canara Bank reversed all my debit card hotlisting charges. I didn't have to visit home branch. Just filing online grievance at https://canarabank.net.in/cpgrs/logi...px did the trick. Remember to be polite and not lose your temper, use mild words and express your disappointment and that you may end relationship with the bank. They will reverse it.

Tell them the charges were unexpected and sudden and that the latest charges PDF does not mention any hotlisting charges: https://canarabank.com/UPLOAD/NewsImage/IOB1679... Also tell them you had done hotlisting from net banking (if you really had done it that way) and at that time also no charges were shown.
