Then that’s pretty much the end of your fight. Every time you contact them they use some flowery copy paste sentences and things are forgotten. They have become like BSNL, till it works good for you it works (things have changed a bit though). You would only lose peace of mind if you fight and at max they might give you 100 or 200 compensatory GC (I don’t know how it works really and how much they give these days. They offered me 50 for missing my prime delivery and I asked for a month’s extension which they did).

In case of delay in delivery after shipment, one should always contact the respective courier agency. The package is with them and ultimately only they can deliver it. Recently there are several cases of bluedart delaying my delivery by updating false status. Every time I contact blue dart cc only to get explanation. They update it in their server and promise next day delivery.
It is hard for larger companies (Amazon here) to specify couriers as per individual customer request. What they can do maximum is not to renew the contract with faulty service (GATI here) if there are sufficient complaints.
As a customer, you can just put pressure on Amazon to get compensation.
