Total 66 lakh moble numbers reduced to 117 crore.
Looks like it will continue some more time as many people continue to close additional unwanted numbers in the face of raising tarriff.
I am happy that chortel & VI has lost millions of subscribers due tariff hike. Still airtel & VI has not learn anything from jio. Both operators just focus on profit maximization in short term while jio has much better marketing strategy.
this is the reward for increasing monthly minimum recharge and not giving sms facility…
Chortel CS is the worst. Have been on chortel for 16+ years and they have stupid policies, non helpful cs ans crappy tech stack
Remember those days, when they used to forcefully subscribe us to Gladrags model packs, comedy packs. 😁😁😁 Good old GPRS/EDGE days.
This is just a trailer.. main picture will come in next 2 months. People are even ready to pay more to send port sms from Airtel.
Why is it so?
5 mine too, porting them out 1-by-1, of which 3 chortel and 2 Vi (including family members).
Chortel ki hadd to dekho, incoming SMS bhi band ho gaye. On top of that, I’m unable to use available balance to recharge. Whereas Vi is better than chortel, at least receiving SMS.
They are concentrating on fiber. This is business.
This was bound to happen.
Let me give an instance:
While I was in UAE:
Airtel charged 3998 INR for International roaming for 500 min incoming+ 500 min outgoing for 30 days
While, Jio charged nearly 1300 for 1000 min incoming+outgoing for 30 days.
Jio charges even less than UAE local operators. So, the first thing that I did, while returning to India was to port my 8 year old Airtel number to Jio.
Airtel was a thief and will remain a thief till it dies.
Not sure about the reliability of international roaming but even in pay as you go rate, Jio looks better.

Chortel Service degraded in recent time. Preferred over jio because of service only. My yearly pack expiring aug 20. Jio service improved. Will port out

I hate vi airtel cartel, but this is unhealthy. Will help jio in long run in monopoly prices.

The smallest jio plan is very expensive just to keep secondary number live.

yes from the surface it seems airtel lost subscribers and jio gained
but have a look on how airtel and jio count their active subscribers , you will get a different perspective
Airtel best 4g speed in my area.
Jio one year plan finished,not recharging any more.
Vi 3 month plan expired not recharging any more.
Now only recharging airtel sims as best and steady 4g speed.
Vi and jio some time work ,some time not.
Mr. Mittal doesn’t care unlike Mr. Ambani. He only wants to cater to the rich.
