CKYC update without active loan account
I had Amazon pay later loan account (Capital float). It was closed 3 years back. Reported in Cibil and NOC also issued.
2 days back received an email from CKYC.
Greetings from Central KYC Registry.
Your KYC record XXXXX registered with Central KYC Registry has been updated by CapFloat Financial Services Private Limited on 05-02-2023. Your Photograph has been updated .
Once they closed the loan account, why and how did they update KYC now ? Is it allowed to update CKYC even without active credit card/loan account ?

I have only one active BNPL from last 2+ years - Ola postpaid plus (IDFC). After that, I didn't apply for any BNPL.
My last CKYC was updated by RBL (new credit card) 11 months ago. After that, I didn't apply for any credit card/loan. I didn't update KYC anywhere recently. @getready

There is no need for active account. In your case i think CapFloat created CKYC record, stamped and shared with other BNPL/CC issuers (Same thing happened with many before with REs like IDFC, Zerodha, RBL - Randomly, not at the time of new line/cc).
Reach out to CapFloat/Axio on twitter or mail ( helpdesk @ ckycindia.in ) just to make sure that they haven't updated wrong details (Photograph / Address)

My first CKYC update was done by Citi bank 3 years ago. Then Kotak bank and last year it was RBL bank. These were after new credit cards issued.
Last month SBI card (3+ years) did CKYC update. This month CapFloat did the same.
I don't think, CapFloat created CKYC record and shared with others.

Check if any active BNPL service you have has changed its partner to capital float recently.
