As was rumoured, IDFC First bank has officially reduced its savings bank interest rate to 6% from 7% earlier, for account balance upto 1Cr.

7% interest on savings account is not sustainable business. It’s obviously a scheme to get more publicity and deposits. One must have little patience to keep shifting money from bank to bank for higher interest.

There is some confusion on this, Over the weekend, i read a news article which reported, they increased the savings a/c interest rates to 7 %.

Upto 1 lakh- 5%
1 lakh to 25 lakhs – 6%
Above 25 Lakhs -7.25%

RBL bank offers 6.75% on balances between ₹10 lakh and ₹3 crore, 6% on balances from ₹1 lakh to ₹10 lakh and 4.75% on balances up to ₹1 lakh

Consider NSC at 6.8%, it has locking of ~5years.

Guys be aware of this bank and check your bank statement vigilantly.
I had booked a 25k FD with one week tenure. After 10 days I had noticed that it was not credited back to account post maturity. Moreover, there was no trace of it in the account. Deposit section was empty. Raised complaint about it and to my surprise, they informed that FD is put on hold as I have not completed full KYC. I don’t think there is a mandate to do this. Anyway, after completing full KYC, it is still missing from account. Have raised another complaint and waiting for its processing. This kind of behavior is frightening from a bank and never in my life will rely on such bank for my cash.
Gonna withdraw full money from the account post resolution of this issue.
There were other issues in their portal, rather bugs but this kind of disappearing of money without trace is alarming.

They will either give the credit in few days or will give you a DD of the matured amount.
