people can’t be babysit to wear masks in public places, stay at home rather than enjoying vacations by jumping to different relatives’ places.

It was supposed to increase without a vaccine. It’s not a news. Peak? Lol. We are gonna see peak after couple of months maybe, only thereafter there might be a reduction in cases. What’s absolutely comical is that some states are opening schools from tomorrow, I mean officially it’s on voluntary basis but still. I understand India doesn’t have any economy left (from before corona) and govt. is hoping for herd immunity by opening public transport, resuming schools, restaurants and whatnot, but seriously imagine pulling herd immunity in the world’s most populated and dense nation.

By the way people nowadays are just roaming without any masks, I mean couple of weeks back at least they bothered to hang the masks by their neck, but now not even they. Completely mask-less. Corona is eradicated from the mind of people apparently.

Should I laugh, cry scream or what not sure!

Correct.
people says it is responsibility of Govt to stop corona.
Govt can provide treatment but people need to stop gathering.

Neither of those, instead start making preparations to move out to some developed nation with good human rights record if possible.

Copy-pasting my Telegram bio which I’ve set like 3 years ago: I live in a shithole and too lazy to get out! #FML

It should have actually been ‘move out’ but the point still remains.

There are many people in my knowledge who are not going for tests despite having symptoms ( small city with no private labs). These are educated people with decent income. Imagine how many of daily labourers or people in remote villages are not getting tested. Numbers are much higher…

Now even service providers (carpenter, electricians) in smaller cities don’t wear masks unlike a month back. Our health infrastructure is not the greatest but even countries with robust health facilities like US are reporting big numbers. People have to show collective initiative. I mentioned earlier that center, state, district & individual – all have to ensure they’re taking steps to curb virus.

It’s not just about infection but more troublesome is the reinfection scenario. A young public figure was infected 3 months back in my city & now he has tested positive again. Reinfection poses  lot more questions for scientific community. A healthy person with no symptoms initially may develop issues if he is infected multiple times due to viral load & other factors. If vaccines are not effective long term then reinfection can open a Pandora’s box.

There are many more things to this *chaos besides tests and infections. Many are wrongly diagnosed. Most are avoiding tests for social stigma. And those who keep testing repeatedly get admitted by the authority even if negative.

The whole thing has gone out of the hand now. As one dadhi wale babaji said “आपदा में अवसर” I think most of the state govts are now minting this situation (e.g. 1.5L / case in some places). triumph

Yup, even I was hinting at social stigma in the first para. There are those who are at least quarantining themselves but I also know some who are going to office despite having symptoms. You rightly pointed there are too many factors in the mix..

Whats more pathetic in such situations is, one who need urgent medical help can not get the same unless s/he clears this Corona *tests first. One of such cases I have came across recently where the patient was required to wait for more than a day (in the prominent hospital of the city) for the report to come (serious heart condition) and he went off before the reports came. pensive He could have been saved easily if no such bs measures were there as he had no history of infection nor travelled, but this useless protocol!!!

Another one was like the AIIMS rejecting to see a patient with prolonged fever, as the test has been done from nasal swabs than mouth. He’s been asked to get it done again (from mouth) after knowing that the patient is already 10 days ill.. wth really we are expecting??

Basically, they don’t need to see any patients now, irrespective of the conditions. And this is real bad!!

I sincerely hope for no-one to fall ill in this period (specially elders), else who knows if we could save them. disappointed_relieved

Buddy people known to members here have died because of corona, just consider yourself lucky that you were not senior citizen when this pandemic happened.

Isn’t this 980 years too early to proclaim?

by the way, i have similar thoughts about gonorrhoea, malaria, leukaemia, Alcoholic hepatitis, stroke.
Because people get ‘cured’ of it, sometimes with minimal or bearable damage, that is why: all these are ‘scams’ as per me.

the other day, my father (who went by someone else’s car or maybe used a cab/Ola/Uber for returning) did not even bathe upon returning.
[in our households, even in the pre-Covid era, taking a shower after coming back from gatherings, crowded places is normal. He too does so on majority of the occasions]

It wasn’t even late in evening, that bathing might cause cold.

I came to know about it later, when i was talking (phone call) with Maa.

I was really upset😔
because they already have comorbidities and already gradually allowed maid/s (without mask, or mask worn as a ‘necklace’) since August😢.

None of whom self quarantined after coming back from hometowns/ villages.

meanwhile… here i am!
i thoroughly clean my hands even BEFORE urinating.
… look look, we know that the entry point for lungs/blood stream are mainly through nose, eyes, ears, mouth..
…but those damn viruses (ANY viruses) do not have a brain!
what if, they ‘try’ taking other ‘routes’, easily accessible points of entry.
thus, sanitising hands even BEFORE doing business is a good🖒 idea IMO.

Yes I know two people who died all of a sudden. And many recovered. Everyone need to be alert. But Alas, so few are staying alert. If many are recovering easily, it is good news and there is no point in lockdown. But at the same time govt and media should still focus on safety measures. But here things are bad. The guy who works beside me passed away. It is so sad and unbelievable at the same time.

I am living in the village. No body wear mask. No social distancing. Still no case. Either immunity or miracle. Cases are there outside village.
It is sorrounded by city just 100 mtr two national higways. 100 mtr away Porsche colonies. Whe i use mask they make fun.
Youngsters used to play kabbadi daily. Even 70% people visit city still all are healthy with grace of god.

Why is it a scam? Mortality rate is known to be quite low. Infection rate is very high. That is what we are witnessing also.

travesty of our nation.
yes, the typical flaws in the education system or rather our mindests as a society (coupled with lethargy to change things) and how the ‘products of the education system’
percolate into the productive workforce, are all intertwined.

by the way, the ‘likes’ i might be getting are NOT well-earned.
Comment is NOT original, from me.
Saw that image somewhere once and regurgitated most of it with minor edits (like many of us do through our education or later for drafting contracts, letters)

It wasn’t a blind copy though, as i do too believe it to be a misfortune (that despite the streaks of sheer brilliance, as a majority, many of us are blissfully ignorant of, or completely😔 at ease with mediocrity.

Well said. A country that places most importance on marks in a board exam based on rote memorization is doomed to produce mediocrity only. Even at graduate level this country focus most on getting a “secure govt job” or “good paying job” rather than what is “most suitable job” & result is there for all to see.

How many people are/were being “reliably” tested PER MILLION (ten lakh people) at the peak (when testing was maximum in Bharat)?

So, if not even 7-8% of the populace is tested (while ‘contact tracing’ of even the known cases is a farce) and asymptomatic cases being a fact:
all these stats/ ‘curve.. this that’ mean little. real numbers of those directly affected might never be known, but are surely manifold than the publically acknowledged figures.

listening to people say (our domestic helps saying) “…there was no corona in our village/ locality…”  simply makes a little part of me die, every time i hear/ overheard such ‘claims’.

as for,
Indians in general, being casual (chalta hai, jugaad), not being systematic, not being disciplined, not maintaining civic sense (as a corollary not respecting rules, laws nor abiding by them) is not surprising.

So yes, people playing kabbadi (touching each other) or being ignorant about hygiene, not following strict protocol (disregard for public safety, even with something as simple as masking up) aren’t that surprising.

Although i too am not immune from getting disturbed at such things, and
it can be really unsettling to be a ’mute’😒spectator to such things being done by people buffoons and baboons who wield power, influence.

because then 🐗they🐒 not only set the wrong precedent, but also end up legitimising their acts and omissions, as being okay.😫😰
Such acts and omissions from those who anoint themselves to the high pedestal are NO LESS criminal than being involved in premeditated homicide
