MF, RD and FD are safest places for your hard earned money.

There is no guarantee of anything in the world.. Lot of MF’s have lost money… Franklin Templeton is great example… With RD and FD, you can’t beat inflation…

They are much safer when compared to Cred peer lending. Nothing is 100% safe but chances of a PSU Bank defaulting is next to Zero. FT MF is a rare case and investing in MF is subject to risk everyone knows that.

Yes we can keep in bank and get 5-6%.. This is for folks who needs more than that…

MF seems to be less risky than this! having said that no guarantee with FD also these days. some bank will default some day.

I agree. One should always have diversified portfolio and invest in mutual funds backed by banks. I know Franklin Templeton was huge and there is always uncertainty but Risk hai toh Ishq hai

I guess, much better than online lenders (as long as the borrowers are cred members/users).

No. That’s not true, they have partnered with liquiloans. So money is going outside Cred Users. Still cred claims some responsibilty like anytime withdrawal

The money can’t be paid directly from one user to other. Some intermediary has to be there to manage all the transactions and administrative work. Liquiloans is going to do the same. Also this takes care of regulatory requirements as well

My guess is right!

-
Investments made in CRED Mint will be lent out through CRED Cash, a lending product created for high-trust CRED members…
-
we realized that many of our members have lakhs in savings lying idle in their bank account, accruing interest rates which don’t even beat inflation,” said Shah. “This is an erosion of wealth and as a community of high trust individuals we felt that P2P lending offers a low-risk investment opportunity for a Cred member investing in another.”

Peer-to-peer lending is not a new business idea. Several large and small firms operate in this space, but CRED appears to be uniquely positioned to solve one of the biggest challenges this category faces: defaulters. According to some estimates, more than 20% of individuals taking a loan in a peer-to-peer service don’t pay it back.

CRED members have a credit score of 750 or higher, making them the most trustworthy audience to provide financial services. On CRED, a user has to have a credit score of 750 or higher to join the app.

CRED also does lending itself — which is available to limited members — and has disbursed about $269

Even at the scale of CRED Cash, the default rate has historically been less than 1%.

@umesh1404 as you already join in early access . can you see borrowers now and can see loan listing ??

Saw very bad reviews for such P2P platforms in a Twitter thread yesterday. For God sake, do not invest your money in such platforms. 5% interest returns in Nationalized banks is better than these Zero Capital Returns.
