Paytm wallet balance can be used if you are scanning a Paytm QR code. You can also open a zero balance account - Paytm, Kotak or Airtel - and load some money for petty expenses.

My daily petty expenses of Rs 50 to 200 via upi/bank results in way too many bank transactions for an individual in a year.
I have to manually record and store them which feels overwhelming.
How do you guys manage the daily petty expense ? Even with the upi via Rupay Credit Card, ill have to record 1000s of transactions per year.
How about loading a digital wallet via bank/cc once a month and using that to pay everywhere? Can paytm or other wallet services make payments to any upi id ?
Which is the best wallet service ? I don't wanna use caveman cash technology.

Use Amazon full kyc wallet UPI and pay through Amazon wallet balance.
Going with this. Just completed full KYC today. The UPI Lite which i came to know of today seems pretty good but i dont like the 2k limitation. The best thing about amazon pay is that i dont even need an active upi or bank id to operate the wallet. thanks @abhishek012
Now i only hope someone leaks a new CC to amazon wallet trick
Wallet upi is in nascent stage. It's not fully operational with most wallets. It's better if you get a rupay card and use upi with it. If the merchant has disabled credit card transactions you can't pay using your card upi.
Or get a separate digital bank account for using just upi.
OP, you haven't been staying up to date with UPI news 😄
UPI Lite was created EXACTLY for people like you (and me too) - who have too many small transactions (<Rs 500) and do not want a mess in their bank statements.
I know PayTM, Google Pay, PhonePe and BHIM apps offer it. Not sure about Mobikwik, Freecharge or your bank's app.
You can load upto Rs 2000 at one go in your UPI Lite wallet. Your bank statement will show a Rs 2000 debit. Then you can do 200 transactions of Rs 10 from the UPI Lite wallet but nothing will appear on the bank statement. Everything will be captured in your UPI app (PayTM, Google Pay). You can pay a maximum of Rs 500 using UPI Lite at one go. It does not matter whose UPI QR code it is.
If Rs 2000 a month seems too little you can top it up again or activate UPI Lite on multiple apps and load Rs 2000 in all of them. Just note that if your phone is lost or broken permanently, you will have to contact your bank to get that money back. I have no personal experience with this. However, if you are replacing phones, you can easily transfer the UPI Lite balance back to the bank account before formatting the phone.
Nice Info +KG
I think the Paytm wallet is the most convenient way. At least to me.
UPI Lite or full KYC wallets https://www.npci.org.in/what-we-do/upi/pp...ps.
