Just found out while using a VPN in a GDPR enforced country, the amount of third party data selling that Desidime is involved in. This is not just collection, it is actual selling which even Google isn't involved in. You might think it's normal for all apps but not really to this extent.

Good post. Whenever one orders from zomato or swiggy around similar number of trackers activate and all that data is stored in their cloud infrastructure which is owned by amrikan companies.

I am not sure where does it suggest that we sell Data.
We currently run Google Adsense as you guys are all aware to continue running this platform and Google Adsense serves personalized ads for which Google does collect a lot of data. That is how Ads work across google and many many platforms. We are also constantly evaluating on how we can completely remove Google Adsense but we are still not sure whats the best model to keep feasibility of running this platform for free.
As far as we are concerned, I can assure you 100% that not even a single data point is sold to any advertiser or sponsor ever. I would personally hate selling my data too as a Dimer and we take this extremely seriously.
I would be more than happy to answer any questions around this.

Unrelated topic as I got a chance to express my idea directly to an admin, hurrey: Why dont you create a top end feature specifically targeting NRIs who wants to discuss their courier & travelling requirements when IN&OUT of India. I know there are specific groups in facebook but Desidime is different can accommodate those NRIs in need.

You are wrong buddy. I also run a website very simple blog and we don't have data collection there as it is very generic blog with low cost hosting and feature. I run Adsense ads on it so that notification comes from google Adsense, there is nothing to do with data collection. Whether it a site collecting data or not Adsense will show it on UK and USA region.

Exactly! And by Jan 2024 , Google Adsense is making this popup mandatory for all websites. We have simply enabled GDPR consent for our non-India traffic and the entire content is actually shown and managed by Google themselves.

Only if OP was a California resident then would have seen CCPA which is way more stricter than EU GDPR
This is bharat where personal phones are used to collect official stuuff aka local storage and access by phone owner for non official use. Data protection in bharat is non existent or else upi and thar would never exist,
Nobody complained:-
-when mota bhai's agents were on the streets like pani puri walas collecting adhars of customers on their personal phones to activate sims.
-when delivery guys take pics of IDs on their personal phones
-when traffic police takes pictures of DL on their personal phones.
-when employees including of banks etc share PIDs of customers within their whatsapp job group to boast about new sale
Facebook, Google, WhatsApp etc - all doing data mining as everyone wants everything 4 free.
SO Relax as very unlikely desidime is getting your adhar, pan etc.

If they sold data, any big company will buy that and become the next Google. Google doesn't sell data but only allows the advertisers to tell them the target customer.
Google has the data, they act as a wall and show you the ads without giving away the data.
