केन्द्रीय कर बोर्ड को प्राप्त डायरेक्ट टैक्स (आयकर + जीएसटी) के आंकड़ों के अनुसार पूरे देश में जितना टैक्स एकत्रित होता है, उसका 38% अकेले महाराष्ट्र से आता है… उसके बाद दिल्ली, कर्नाटक, तमिलनाडु आते हैं… जबकि गुजरात पांचवे नंबर पर आता है… इसी प्रकार यूपी से केवल 3%, अर्थात आंध्रप्रदेश से भी काफी कम… और हरियाणा से थोडा सा अधिक…बंगाल से होने वाला टैक्स कलेक्शन, गुजरात से थोडा सा ही पीछे लेकिन यूपी और हरियाणा से ज्यादा है… हालाँकि “भीषण प्रचार” की वजह से मैं कितने बड़े भ्रम में था कि गुजरात बेहद विकसित एवं औद्योगिक प्रदेश है?? या फिर ये भी हो सकता है कि वास्तव में गुजरात बेहद विकसित हो, लेकिन किसी जुगाड़ से टैक्स कम चुकाता हो…

All these 5 states have established monopoly and became owners of every business due to geographical benefit they have over other states. Landlocked states like Punjab and Haryana have nothing much to offer then grains and are agri-based and you already know what farmers get for their produce. When you can make a product out of cheap agri-product in Maharashtra and sell it at 1000-1500% margins you are ought to be leader. That’s why Punjab is asking separation because big states are exploiting small states the way they want.
