Disastrous Daikin AC cooling experience

Daikin 1.5 Ton split inverter AC installed on 7 April started facing cooling issues since third day of operation.
On third day 16 April post cooling room AC seemed to stop working suddenly at 40 mins & then released hot air twice & then when restarted it started with reduced cooling
19April
Engineer Yeakub Ali came & inspected both indoor &
outdoor units.
He concluded parameters were ok & was unable to
diagnose the exact reason for cooling being dissatisfactory
He discharged some gas saying pressure was 170 & he
reduced it to 150 for optimal cooling.
This despite the AC chilling room in 20 minutes for the first two days .
Before leaving he informed he would consult with senior
engineers.
Now I observe
not only cooling but even fan speed has reduced & is not
blowing at high speed even at level 5. It seems as if the fan
speed is not increasing despite increasing it on remote.
I received a call from service center representative
informing that my AC is ok & under observation.
This despite Engineer agreeing that there was absolutely
negligible cooling & me informing him that there is no room for further observation as it's crystal clear that AC is not cooling.
I was also told that AC maybe struggling to cooldown room due to excessive heat & room size.
I don't agree as this same room was cooled down in 10
minutes on the day of installation done during midday

Senior Engineer visited & conceded there was no pressure above normal limits & that during high temperature it is normal for gas pressure to be showing higher & during evening it would show around 130
He checked both indoor & outdoor & then measured & said pressure is still 170
How come pressure is still 170 despite Engineer releasing gas?
Also then was Engineer lying when he said he reduced pressure to 150?
He also conceded every parameter is ok except the air throw from indoor unit which is only 18.9 after AC running for 20 mins instead of 12 degree
He is also saying since the temperature is now 41 degree for past few days hence AC is not being able to handle the extreme load
Also room size is around 200 square feet which is putting stress on 1.5 ton AC .
Final conclusion
Asked me to wait for temperature to drop below 40 degree for Daikin to start cooling properly
Seems I am stuck with a faulty AC in less than 2 weeks of installation as Daikin is shifting blame to 40 degree temperature + room size being too big for a 1.5 ton AC
Also Daikin doesn't reply to emails sent to [email protected]

200 sq feet room needs 2 Ton AC bhai. High ambient temperature+ large room+ low power machine = less/ no cooling

I have 1.5 Ton Spilit AC from IFB installed in a 80 sq. feet room. and the same model is installed in 120 sq feet room.
No issues till now. I live in a city where temperature now a days is approx 42 during 2-4 PM
Inverter compressor ACs are a new technology and some models give issues over time, maintenance cost rises. Regular split AC and wait for kinks in inverter compressor AC technology to be ironed out
Regular split AC price has not much difference almost same to same and what about high power consumption?
Inverter ACs can be run at 30° to save more electricity with mild cooling, but Non-inverter can't save money at the same settings as it will start and stop again and again with full speed + starting jerk
Why you purchased Daikin? While most of the users recommended Panasonic?

What i have obseeved w.r.t my experience on LG.. most of the times product is fine.. but technicians are at fault who dont do proper installation.. and since my ac was covered with full warranty for first year.. gas needed to be filled atleast 3 times within first year.. and this was covered by warranty..
When you call them you have to monitor them closely and ask them what they are doing.. do not allow them to really touch any valves.. as i have seen some cases.. they intentionaly discharge gas or loose the valves for one more service request.
Day by day it's really becoming difficult to trust on any mechanic/ engineer/ technician. ( Not pointing to real engineers, just these so called technician)

I would suggest . run the ac at night full blast at 16c to check ac is faulty or not. means room should get chilled within 30 min to 1 hour.
since you have big room you should have bought higher tonnage ac instead of paying daikin extra premium.
I hit the power chill button & it is still unable to cool forget chill after 30 mins

Unfortunately I guess your issue won't be resolved quickly by daikin. Maybe try to complaint and get paid for deficiency of service

If you are expecting that room temperature would come down to 12 deg C with a 1.5 ton AC, that's not possible with outside temp > 40 deg and room size 200 sq ft. Anyways u should maintain a room temperature of not less than 25 deg when outside temp is> 40 deg for health reasons.
I bought a Daikin 1.8 ton AC for a 200 sqft room, but Daikin staff refused to install it saying it is too less capacity for this size and heat load. They said atleast 2.2 ton AC is reqd. Eventually I had to return that AC
It's not possible for room temperature to come down to 12 degrees when the lowest temperature on remote is 18 degrees.
For the room to come down to 18 degrees which is the temperature on which engineer checked the air throw from IDU front grill has to be 12 degrees which is what he said
I got exceptional cooling from samsung 5 star split aluminium condenser AC for 10 years from 2011 to 2020 when gas finally leaked so I know that 1.5 ton AC easily chilled my room in 20 mins.
Even this Daikin worked well for 2 days before faltering on third day.
I always start on 24 degrees & increase it by 2 degrees to 28 degrees .
At 24 degrees this Daikin was chilling room in 20 mins.

Yesterday, I was at this shop, and I was surprised at how good the cooling inside the shop was.
I wanted to know what brand of air conditioner it was since it was performing very well. I looked on the blower unit and It was Daikin. I remembered reading this thread on this forum.
The blower unit was very quiet and performing very well at that place, and it was very hot outside too.
I assume they are trying to get away with the excuse that your unit is not performing well because it is very hot outside, which is not valid.
I paid 4.5 k extra thinking Daikin is premium brand & makes heavy ODU with double jacket on compressor.
But now Daikin has abandoned me at peak of summer. This is just pathetic . If their AC can't even handle 41 degrees then why do they market cooling at even 52 degress
There could be many reasons that a new AC is not cooling as expected, maybe installation wasn't done properly or gas/outdoor unit issues. You should have tested it properly before closing the replacement or returning window.
Now try to escalate this issue with Daikin and ask them to check thorouly this issue, complaint to them on twitter as well.
I think it is either an installation issue or defective product.
I've an LG 1.5ton 5star split AC, bought last year, which is working just fine in summer of Rajasthan at 40+ temp, that too in a ~190sqft room.
Yes, it takes a bit more time to cool entire room, like 8-10 more mins as compared to identical 1.5t AC also installed in another 140sqft room. But once cooled, its all good.
If those service people are blaming on room size, they're lying, because all that can hamper is cooling time & a bit more electricity bill, not the cooling capacity or air throw of AC itself. You generally need higher tonnage if:
1. room height is more
2. lot of metal furniture is present
41deg outside temp or 200sqft room CANNOT result in negligible cooling or less air throw when you stand in front of AC.
As suggested by others, escalate it to all possible levels with Daikin along with social media. If nothing works, then consumer forum.
The Engineers have said that air throw from indoor unit blower is 18.9 degrees instead of 12 degrees since heat load is too much ambient temperature being high 41 degrees & room size being 200 feet +
