HP govt. in response to queries by 2 MLAs provided a list of 1683 drugs that had failed in tests in just the three years! The majority are apparently really small, unknown companies (like the ones that supply JA). 2-5 drugs from behemoths like Abbott, Cipla, Glenmark, Alkem and Hetero have also failed in tests.
Zee Labs had been implicated many, many times. I did a search for the keyword "zee" which yielded 120 results.
Most common punishment is suspension of product license for 10 days which is completely meaningless as it's not enforced. CDSCO has been mulling a drug recall system for the past 46 years.
Truly pathetic state of affairs.
My brother prompted me and told me about it and have been using ever since.
Works as advertised.
My mom is using Telmisartan AM for BP management. Earlier branded one would cost Rs 80-160 for 10 tabs. But one from Jan Aushadhi cost Rs 24 for 15 tabs. Have used 15-20 packs so far.
If I share my personal experience, I met with an accident. The wound did not heal. I went to a pvt hospital n took branded meds. Did not work. I went to a govt hospital. The doc changed my antibiotics n I took them from govt dispensery. Wound healed faster than I anticipated. 🙂
I have heard and experienced the same.
Salt(chemical) in medicine of private brands in comparison to generic/dispensery medicine are less effective and more pricey.
Only companies and pharmacies getting benefitted by this.
