Earth Day 2021 : Restore Our Earth

The theme for Earth Day 2021 is Restore Our Earth and it focuses on natural processes and emerging green technologies that can restore the ecosystems.



Every year on April 22, Earth Day is observed. Earth Day is dedicated to the bountiful Mother Nature and with each passing year, as the world battles a climate crisis, Earth Day is gaining significance. In 1990, Earth Day became an ‘’environmental movement, working with more than 75,000 partners in over 192 countries to drive positive action for our planet’‘.

This year, we mark the 51st Earth Day and earthday.org calls on everyone to “be a part of the change”.



The United Nations recently warned that as the world fails to slow “relentless” climate change, the planet stands on the “verge of the abyss”. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at a press conference said, "This is truly a pivotal year for humanity’s future. And this report shows we have no time to waste, climate disruption is here."

Guterres unveiled the World Meteorological Organisation’s State of the Global Climate 2020 report which revealed that 2020 was one of the hottest years ever, with an average temperature roughly 1.2 degrees Celsius above the pre-industrial period.

There are many of these ‘days’ celebrated but untill we bring about a marked change in our approach it’s not going to make any  substantial difference. Devastating fires occurred last year in Australia & Brazil. Fires started from winter in Uttarakhand this season.

Nature will have the last word, not humans.
