Seems the physical debit cards from Fi will no longer be free if you don't use them/upgrade plans
You can choose to disable the physical card and get a virtual card to avoid the fees.

The only mention is card yearly anniversary. Doesn't mention when you joined. Same has been updated on their website as well.
Earlier it was free for all account types?
I had it for free for the base account.

So it's federal bank doing this everywhere I guess then.

In the email there is a link to request cancellation of physical card, and switch to only virtual card.

It's an annual maintenance charge. It seems old users will also be affected

You can raise physical DC closure request via Chat with customer care.
I had blocked my Debit Card through Internet Banking, also raised a request via chat. Any Fi user can register Federal Bank Internet Banking using their Fi Debit Card.

How to get rid of this physical card by Fi?
For physical dc to virtual dc :-
Go to Debit card section -> card setting -> Request New card -> mention reason -> now you have option to select Virtual/Physical debit card.
Don't block your physical dc via Fi helpline as currently they can only block dc but will not be able to give you virtual dc.
Check with the customer support seems like it is not applicable to older users (joined before 2023)
