Their request for lockdown is apt & in tune with highly grim situation in our country. There’s ‘acute’ shortage of hospital beds, oxygen, Covid related medicine. Black marketers are thriving & exploiting vulnerable people. Medical personnel are bearing the brunt of this pandemic.

It’s heartbreaking to see so many people asking for emergency help on Twitter. There should be phase wise lockdown in most (if not all) states till medical logistics is spruced up. If there is acute shortage of beds & oxygen then how patients will be treated with stark increase in cases?

I am in Delhi and I know a few people died in last 3-4 days… they were not able to get Oxygen / ICU beds. One person died 4 hours ago in our Gali sad

There is no changes in the status of medical facilities in Delhi… demand is too high. Till there is not enough Oxygen and beds availability in Delhi, Lock down must be extended… I don’t think there is any other options left at present.

Before lifting the Lockdown we need to ask ourselves why Lockdown was imposed.

We need to be more cautious and step out only for essential work/buying.

In Mumbai it looks like everyone is in essential work sector apart from a few fools like me….. Thats why maharashtra State is in this sorry State….

It’s not just Maharashtra. Situation is grim in UP, Delhi, Kerala etc.

Rightly mentioned by you & others – Go out for essential work only.

Instead of lockdown let’s kill each other there’ll be no humans & no virus spreading …. atleast Nature & other wild animals may get a chance to live happily!

Yeah irresponsible statement bt we humans r the cause of this pandemic it’s not nature’s gift btw..

What’s point to go extreme rolleyes

Yes Human right is everywhere and there is very little or no right of anything else be it plant/trees/forest/worm/animals/mountains/rivers…..

We are responsible and now we need to fix it
Hopefully What message Tsunami/Earthquake/floods/fire/… could not make us realize that we are going on wrong path, Coronavirus does pensive

Lockdown is a tough measure affecting livelihoods & is enforced as a end resort. If cases are too high & medical infrastructure is too overwhelmed to handle it then even those patients who could be saved through oxygen/ventilator end up dying. Spare a thought for patients suffering from medical issues other than Corona when critical Corona patients are not able to find beds.

Lockdown ‘may’ help bridge gap between demand & supply of essential medical equipment & oxygen. We are dependent on other countries for basic things like raw material for vaccines. Those on frontline like medical & security personnel are not getting a break even after getting infected twice. Who the hell is thinking about them?
