I have received my card last month and statement got generated this month. There cashback for each transaction was mentioned. To my surprise , the cashback is rounded to their convenience. For example a transaction of 120 Rs has cashback of Rs 1, instead of Rs. 1.8 or Rs 2. This is my daily milk charges and i lost 15 Rs on this for a month. I raised a complaint to Axis bank and waiting for reply. There are many such transactions and everything was floored instead of rounding to nearest whole number.
I don't remember any rounding mentioned in their T&C and statment got generated for 10633.44
did anyone face this, and how did you resolve?
Edit:
Just got T&C and look at it for more clarity.
"The cashback will be rounded down for each individual transaction. For eg., If for a transaction of Rs. 1100, the customer is eligible for a cashback of 1.5% i.e., 1100 * 1.5% = Rs. 16.5. Only Rs. 16 will be credited to the customer for that individual transaction."
- Sort By
It is there from starting of the card. Nothing new
Exactly, it has always veen like this
Axis is not alone, even sbi, hdfc, icici does it
AU lit cc is also like this.
Only whole amount cash back fk axis credits - decimals will become zero. Next time keep this rule in mind before transacting.
P. S - most cc have same rules.
For eg. Sbi simply click will give only 5 reward points on transaction of even rs 199.😂
In terms of this rbl duet gave extra cashback, I spent 189 and they gave 2 rs as cashback
@playdime this is the rule and probably already in some t&c . Just accept it and carry on, no point in thinking it as a loss.
There are worser examples like many HDFC cards divide by 150 rather than 100 as already pointed out previously..
Also there are some cards which gives part RP in decimals eg. one card, but their points won't be as much valuable as FK axis right?
You can append RBL too to the list of cards that credit decimal rewards (cards that promise x% cashback, not sure how they function for traditional rewards cards i.e. x reward for y spends).
I orders ₹259.5 from Apay ICICI
Got just ₹12 as cashback.
They can't even round off .50p
Flipkart axis credit card NOT GIVING 1.5% CASHBACK FOR "UTILITY" CATEGORY anymore.
Not trying to be insensitive here to OP, but the rewards and the roundoff issue with cards have been discussed at lengths on this platform earlier, for most of the cards. So, repeat threads about this issue without even trying to lookup the information from existing threads, doesn't really help anyone, instead it creates more clutter here on this platform to sort through while looking up information from past thread.
Here is one such post, in case someone else decides to raise this cashback and roundup/down issues
No never. its always good to point to right resource. Thanks to you. @MJ911 , please merge this with that thread if you think it is.

Axis Ace - For cashback calculation, it has rounding off... & not rounding down!
Just got T&C and look at it for more clarity.

Most if not all CCs use ROUNDDOWN
Citi CC was fair always used ROUND so even ₹51 txn using 1% rewards CC would fetch ₹1 reward 🥰 We're going to miss Citi thoroughly 😢
What a bloody 🩸 irony Citi taken over by Axis whose cc has triggered this unfair calculation discussion 😬
Off topic - More afaik is preferred partner of Amazon cc but fetching only 1% not 2% rewards. Any idea anyone?
One card also do not round off

Most of the bank do the same. Always lower rounding off to a whole number. Nothing will change after complain I guess it is mentioned in their t&C
