Hi, on 7th November I have received a message from Aditya Birla Finance as below. Dear Kumar LXW-M01234-123456789, Now you can access your ABFL Loan account details on whatsapp! To Experience this new way of service on the go, please send start or give a missed call on 7840877999. Please note name and account number are changed. Few hours later another message followed Dear Kumar, Kindly ignore the previous message resulting from technical error. Apologies for the inconvenience. Regards, ABFL After receiving two messages I was bit shocked to see my name completely on message as I never had any relation with Aditya Birla and I thought to check with them later and forgot about this. Today while I'm accessing my CIBIL score I have observed an entry in account information from Aditya Birla F L stating they have sanctioned loan of 50,000 on 30/09/2019 and current balance as 1425/-. I was bit shocked after seeing this and I quickly contacted Aditya Birla Finance Limited and shared my mobile number and email id. Agent on call had limited details and he confirmed me that I have taken 50k loan from OLA Application. I have asked him about loan tenure etc details. he confirmed loan tenure is 12 months and he can't see EMI details being paid. Agent also confirmed that outstanding amount is shown as 0. After listening all these I was bit shocked how OLA took money on my behalf, later realized this could be due to OLA Money postpaid upgrade which I did during September 1st week. Though I'm not clear about this, I have sent an email to OLAMONEY support and waiting for their response. Anyone else facing this issue? Even if it's due to OLA Money postpaid, entry in CIBIL should not be done as personal loan. This is very bad and will impact our credit history.

I checked my details after this. But could not find any ICICI Paylater query in the last 1 year. May be because ICICI is my primary bank for last 20 years and they have my full details.

I too hold ICICI bank account yet I could see ICICI PL inquiry entry in my CIBIL during their initial launch

@AppleFan you have Ola Postpaid or Ola Postpaid Plus ? If Plus then the entry in your CIBIL make sense.

Many people including me got an offer to subscribe to Ola Postpaid Plus powered by Aditya Birla Finance. In the fine print it was clearly indicated that this is in the nature of unsecured credit line and would get reported in CIBIL. I deliberately avoided subscribing to it though I got multiple reminders and phonecalls to promote it. Looks like you did subscribe to it and that would mean there is a consent from your side to dip into the credit line and get a CIBIL hit. Nothing much can be done now except to close it a few months down the line.

I too received these SMS messages and also found it in CIBIL report. You should understand that sanctioned doesn’t mean you are actually paid. Current balance shown is the amount you owe Ola money being postpaid dues. This is a routine financial reporting system. You will soon find Flipkart paylater also.

need some help regarding Ola Money Postpaid I got invitation from ola money for there Postpaid product(3000 limit) so if I accept it will create any loan in my credit history as they are asking for PAN details (although they assuring that “This won’t impact my credit score”)

Ps. I am talking about normal postpaid not plus or upgrade

How to check CIBIL score?

Either pay for it via your bank(sbi netbanking cibil score check option 400+gst, icici & hdfc rates are lower) in which you have an account in your name with pan number linked or create a free account on cibil but it only gives 1 free report in a year https://myscore.cibil.com/CreditView/enrollShor...

flipkart paylater was showing in my CIBIL report as a personal loan, so i contacted flipkart and they said Paylater CAN NOT be de-activated or closed, u need o contact IDFC first bank, so i contacted IDFC bank and they said i need to provide them a confirmation of my flipkart account closure.

i had to de-activate my flipkart account in order to de-activate paylater, then i sent them the screenshot of flipkart account closure and my cibil report, finally IDFC first bank’s entry was removed from my CIBIL. i am using flipkart from another account, i wont be using their paylater services in future.

No you can’t. You authorized them to open a line of credit on your name. Don’t worry, then didn’t take a loan on your name.

They have made a credit inquiry and your score has already been hit. You can’t do anything now as it was an authorized inquiry.

Plus it is not a loan so it will not make any negative impact on your CIBIL score unless you use it and don’t pay it back on timely manner.
