If ICICI bank denied to issue then force them or told them your friends are also get RuPay card today.

This is exactly what happened. First, they said they don’t issue Rupay variant at all but I insisted on raising an SR for it and voila the executive raised one in minutes. Expecting the card latest by next week. Thank you very much for the advice.

Another thing I wanted to know is what are the annual charges for this card? The agent said “NIL” but I can’t believe that.

I have ICICI visa debit card, can I apply rupay card and block the visa?

Didn’t know about this incentive until brother shared this discontinuation message. Transacted many times in past months with Axis Neo card but never got any discount. Was there any minimum amount limit?

If ICICI Salary account or any special type of ICICI Premium account then no charges.

other normal saving account holders- issuance is Free but annual charges Rs150+GST.

First apply for ICICI RuPay debit card, once your RuPay card will issue to you and first time you used your RuPay debit card then your old visa card will get automatically blocked.

By the way, if you already installed imobile app and already applied for RuPay card then you will see your Virtual RuPay debit card in your imobile app within 24 to 48hrs.

Maybe that was reason. Never got any extra charge for fuel payments.

But it has privelege written on card and the mail that came said it is expressions debit card. Will they charge more or just regular charges as rupay platinum, is your card of the same make ??

How is this good news for rupay card/UPI users. It was already coming..it is just bad news for visa and mastercard holders.

Although it’s zero balance account but I hold 50k Balance in account.

The card has started showing up on the app this morning and the number starts with 6521. Platinum is not written anywhere though – hope it would be a Platinum. I checked the limits section and it shows up the same high limits as my Visa Platinum.

And mine is a Silver Savings account – shows Privilege Banking on net banking. Hope the card would be free as the agent mentioned.

If it is rupay it’s platinum like @abhishek012; told earlier.
I doubt the limits would be as high as visa platinum, because the letter with the card says atm withdrawal limit is 50k
