I have used timesprime code. It works for first time Googleone users. Annual 1300 is payable after free 6 mths. However, payment can be made through Google GV balance. You can get google GV at discount and add to your account in advance.

Main issue with google storage is that photos are now counted against storage. Check your storage usage. You can review your photos and delete the unwanted ones to create storage.
