Got Refund even though I travelled

I booked flight tickets on Yatra. Didn't get ticket confirmation but payment was processed. Got confirmation from the airline and I travelled as planned.
Out of the blue, after travel was complete, got full refund from Yatra citing ticket wasn't booked.
Received the full refund amount.

Have anyone ever faced such situation? Can Yatra ask for the Money they refunded?

Happened once for a train ticket on Amazon, amount around 5k. They first blocked my refunded amount almost 6-7 months later and kotak did a lien. Later it was debited from my account automatically.

Jackpot !! Difference of days between Date of Booking and date of Journey ? Mode of payment ? Here I am just assuming that you must be regularly following up with them for refund. I can assure you 100% they won't call you for money return. Big company never does cheap moves like a grocery shop owner. It's their robotic Coordination error in Payment+ Confirmation. Also don't keep funds in/ where you got the refund to avoid auto reverse.

Difference between date of booking and date of journey is 3 days. Amount is close to 7K. Mode- credit card. Did no follow ups with Yatra at all. Why would I do when I travelled actually. There has to some error from their side. I searched everywhere but didn't find any such cases. I hope it stays like what @urmila.contact have said. So I should use the jackpot Money and forget everything about it right? laughing

Or like one example above, can they follow up with the bank and get a lien marked in my credit card?

Yes it can, in fact chances of this happening in case of credit card is always higher because unlike debit card where you pay using your own money, the money paid via credit card is not yours but card issuing bank's money.

Flipkart - It happened to me in 2016 somewhere, when there was no return pickup courier (Tier 2/3 District ) for mobile phones then at that time customers needed to send the mobile phones to their registered address, so I ship them via INDIA POST Speed Post and then sent them the email of courier slip (For reversal of Courier Charges). It was back then the system was like we are expecting your return and hence we will refund you within 3-5 working days. so, one day I received an SMS from my bank crediting a Refund of 9999Rs from Flipkart but somehow I was lucky enough that the parcel didn't reach them because of some address unavailability issue and no contact number was provided by Flipkart thus, one day the INDIA POST MAN came to my address and told me here is your returned parcel which is undelivered

I was very happy that the phone and money is with me😊 but after just 2 months from my Engg Hostel, My Phone got stolen when I was sleeping in the night from my room and I never got that phone!

The moral for me was - KARMA - So, I believe the thing which is mine will be always mine and if it belongs to someone else then I won't get it anyways .....

Just check if the refund was for a failed transaction that you did prior to actual booking. It may be the case that one of your transactions failed and that money is returned but not the successful one.

No no. Actually the booking was never confirmed on Yatra. While checking it always showed some error. Got payment processing message but it said booking was not confirmed. Got booking confirmation from airline. Looks like a case of communication gap between Yatra and the airline

Once i was refunded 2 times for a return on flipkart. One was within few hours of return pickup and one was after 2-3 days. But after like a month or 2 flipkart took that extra money from account. Like they can do that!?

In 2021 Generated AZ/ FK/ UB/ MMT/ etc Gift cards worth 1 Lakh from Mobikwik without even making a single payment. I know nobody would have believed me that's why recorded my screen already. But there is no way to share screen recording on this platform. Also some loots are never meant to share. I was the only person in India who came to know about that glitch/ Error and it lasted for 7 days.If I have shared with anyone or here then it might have lasted 7 minutes.

This happened during Covid-19. My flight got cancelled and I was expecting a refund. I had booked through Amazon and back then Cleartrip was their travel partner (now it is MMT). After approaching Cleartrip's Amazon dedicated team via calls and mail, I got a refund from Cleartrip processed to my original payment source. Surprisingly, a month later I got a refund from Amazon via Amazon Pay into my original payment source as well.

The real flex was in travelling under such ambiguous circumstances, and I can't imagine anyone to take that risk anyday, lol. It will get reversed eventually and charges will be debited to your cc. Enjoy the money till then.

The companies usually deduct within 2-3 months. Every transaction is leisured in books .so sooner or later they will track the difference and find out the txn.

Usually the companies do not chase the customer to pay back in later months (unless it is a very high amount, in lakhs and above). They get to identify these kind of situation only during their audit. And they write off the loss as chasing the customer for payment via legal teams costs them higher than what they are trying to recover.

Almost same thing happened with me during lockdown time. I booked 5 tickets with IndiGo's BOM to CCU flight. Due to some reason they cancelled the flight on that day and gave me an option to board another flight on the next day. I got tickets to board the flight next day. But after 3 to 4 days I got email & sms from cleartrip, that due to the flight cancellations, they issued the refund of around Rs. 48000. I called them but the cleartrip executive said that in their system it showed that Indigo refund the said amount.

i ordered some beard trimmer and didnt liked it , it had no return police , called amazon and they say keep the trimmer we r refunding .. those were early days of amazon and it was absolutely amazing
