Has any one lost money in digital payment transaction failure or success (CC bill, UPI, CC/DC/Netbanking usage etc)?

I am trying to understand the successes and failures of the digital economy, hence created this topic.

1)Few years ago, I made a payment using the gpay (txn 2k), it failed but money got deducted. It took 2 months to get back the money. Since then, I dont use gpay or any UPI for large amount >1k.

2)I dont use DC (except at ATMs) , hence no experience with that.

3)I do use netbanking for transferring money via NEFT and IMPS. Touch wood, no failures so far.

4)I do use CC for online and offline. Touch wood, no failures so far.

5)I used TMW wallet heavily until they stopped their operations. Around 10k got stuck, but got back with in 30 days.

6)Some cash back issues with freecharge and amazon but they were very small amount <100.

Have you faced any challenges using the digital payments ?

I find upi to be more useful and easy to use almost everywhere. Automatic refunds in my case

If UPI payment fails and bank dont refund in due time, penalty amount of rs. 100 per day becomes cherry on the cake.

6 th case with me. Both with Freecharge & Amazon. As we speak, I have been struggling to get refund from Amazon for a failed recharge for a week now. They told me to wait for 5 more days. Pata nahin milega ki nahin

You will get refund for sure..Just after 5 days,initiate a chat with customer service and tell them to refund the amount

I once did UPI transaction through Gpay on Jiomart app… The order wasn’t created… No msg from jiomart… But the txn was successful and money was debited… Had to call Jiomart a dozen of times (for 15 days)to get the money back.. But all I got was Sorry sir, We never got any amount from your bank . Finally launched a complaint(Charge Back) with grievance cell at Bank. Got my money in next 15 days… I never ordered anything again from jiomart after that

Have done payment via QR scan using GPAY which was not successful, money was deducted & have still not got it back for over 2 months now.

UPI is like instant payment, so if Jiomart dint received it, likely it was stuck from bank’s end. Anyways, thats not the issue, customer’s money got stuck and thats why you should have got compensation for delay in UPI reversal. Did you got any compensation?

Rules apply to all as per RBI, if they dont want to follow – thats’ another thing though. Got compensation of 1800 for a payment failure of Rs. 100 flushed

Haven’t got refund yet for a failed UPI transaction in June. At that time there was an issue with SBI in Amazon.

Last year in December.. i ordered few items for frnd using sbi on Amazon.. and returned 1 item.. .me & my frnd dues was not cleared yet.. so i was checking statement for exact amount and found amazon never returned amount for 1 item…
Now Amazon is saying they will check and revert me in 10-12 days..

But this whole left me in big worry.. since i order huge orders from multiple sites and always trusted them in case of return.. never checked Statement…
Don’t know.. if that was just one time.. or happened more than that…

Compensation applies for failed UPI transaction only. If the amount is debited from bank and not credited to source and not refunded as well(in 4-5 days I think).

Did many UPI payments and online transactions and faced no major issues till now except 2 or 3.

1) Rs.190 was debited as Uber payment from Aditya Birla Payments Bank UPI but Uber again charged by debit card. At first raised few complaints with bank but there was no single response. (Thank god, ABPB has shut their business) Approached Uber and amount was refunded as Uber credits as they charged twice.

2) Phonepe Rs.20 payment failed, waited for 5 days and then raised a complaint. ICICI bank refunded it with more than 5 confirmation calls.

3) Cashback issues with Amazon. Rs.2000 cashback wasn’t credited in SBI. After more than 7 complaints Amazon issued cashback manually. And in another instance 200 cashback wasn’t credited to amazonpay but I did not pursue it as I had no time and interest.

Next year real time online dispute resolution for UPI will launched, no need to worry about your failed UPI transaction.

Today, NPCI CEO Dilip Asbe said UPI transactions could also hit a billion a day in the near future, and added that an online dispute resolution system was needed for such a scale.

“The RBI has approved online dispute resolution. This is very important. Even if there are 0.1% complaints, online dispute resolution plays a huge role,” he said. “This will help take UPI to billion transactions a day in the next few years,” Asbe added.

I have one more UPI failure issue coming up.
Transacted on SBI collect website using kotak UPI. Since it was failed, I paid again using credit card.
Raised a dispute with Kotak bank and they rejected saying ‘’Beneficiary did not respond’’. I will have to approach their grievance cell.
