Phew. Bach gaye! (Got saved). I have never used miles conversion on these cards. Don't think many people will be affected. It requires some special expertise to properly do these miles conversions and get good value out of it.

Why not ?
Many users convert their reward points to miles and then sell their accounts or some buys purchased your miles. You will get good return compare with normal gift voucher/cash etc conversion.

Also, as I said, understanding miles conversion requires expertise. So far I haven't had the inclination to try it. I also believe miles conversion is useful for international airlines which I don't use. Lastly, trading miles involves a bit of risk and bargaining which I rather avoid.
