On a side note, I recently reapplied for hdfc millenia credit card after 6 months of last card closure and immediately after seeing the status as approved I approached them to change the variant to rupay and they agreed...let's see what happens .fingers crossed

Actually it seems millenia is the only good card in hdfc..while applying I was getting other variant also like diner club privilege , money-back plus, some flight card and millenia card
So after comparing the offers I see millenia gives more benefits ..same goes for millenia debit card , one can easily earn ₹400 per month

Few months back (May, 2022), pharmacy website offer discount using HDFC bank cards.
I found all this HDFC RuPay debit card active BIN numbers - 652400 607802 652166 607318 607926 608027 607109 608026 603123
Do you know "652400" and "652166" both are HDFC RuPay Platinum International debit card.
Normally, we HDFC Salary, Saving, NRO account apply for HDFC RuPay Platinum debit card. We all get this BIN number RuPay Platinum debit card - "652166"
Now we need to find out which HDFC RuPay Platinum debit card is this - "652400" ?
It may be possible that HDFC Bank has a higher variant RuPay Platinum debit card, BIN number - "652400" and offer 1% cashback on selected merchants and Rs750+GST charges for this card.
Now the billion dollar question is how can we find out ?
Well, if you have any relationship manager, bank manager then ask him/her to contact HDFC bank product team and they will tell us which RuPay Platinum debit card, BIN number - "652400".
Its highly possible, HDFC product team dnt know about this BIN number "652400" but atleast they will tell us, any higher variant RuPay Platinum debit card available on HDFC bank or not and card charged Rs750+GST.

No loot, RuPay card is Indian company. So, its our duty to support our Indian card company RuPay.

If you get same rewards/cashback/discount offers on Visa/Mastercard and RuPay variant then why use Visa/mastercard ?
Remember few important thing -
1) If the customer does not support RuPay card then the bank will not issue RuPay card to the customer. If banks do not see any demand for RuPay cards from customers, banks will continue to prefer Visa/MasterCard (It's actually create a paradox and we need to break it).
2) Currently, bank staffs are also not aware about all RuPay credit cards, RuPay card variants etc because of no demand. Since, no demand from customer side, bank staffs also refuse and told RuPay card is not available. (Recently, HDFC bank staffs told Regalia, Millennia card is not available on RuPay Platform. Same case for SBI Card, ICICI bank etc, they always refuse and told RuPay is not available).
3) Yes, RuPay card also have some minor problems. There is only one solution to solve this, more and more customers apply for RuPay card and if you face any problem then complaint to bank that's how visa/mastercard improve their services from last 2-3 decades. I remember 12 years ago, my Visa/Mastercard transactions always failed, refund problem etc from last few decades banks worked with visa/mastercard to improve servers and huge investment on infrastructure for best visa/mastercard transaction processing (If you dnt know all transaction are process through banks, 99% bank is responsible for transaction failure and refund problem). So, only solution is that we need to use more RuPay cards then bank will also take RuPay card on priority. Thankfully, atleast private banks have few minor problems on RuPay card compare with public sector banks.

I talked to my area manager , he say they purposely deny rupay as its not profitable for them
For CC to thrive they need to give rewards and to give rewards they need to make money from each transaction via merchant fee. Consumers are becoming smart these days and they dont opt for emi unless its NC and mostly all pay full amount instead of Min due
For rupay this merchant fee is too low to support all those Rp/CB and banks end up taking a hit
They cant give less reward as consumer will not take them and shift to other banks

Actually, Some misinformation has spread everywhere. RuPay dnt have lower MDR fees -
When RuPay debit card was launched. RuPay charged 1% MDR compare with Visa/mastercard debit card charged upto 3% MDR.
Later, Visa/mastercard debit card also reduced to 1% MDR to stay in competition.
Now misinformation has spread from here, banks and normal people still thinking RuPay card charge lower MDR fees. which is now 100% wrong info (you will find many article posted on internet, twitter everywhere and people are comparing RuPay ahs lower MDR fees 1% Vs visa/master 3% MDR). 😀😀
It's become history now.
As per latest RBI guidelines, All debit cards (RuPay/Visa/Mastercard debit card) charge 0.4% MDR upto 2k transaction and above 2k transaction charge 0.9% MDR.
RuPay credit card charge same MDR fees like any other Visa/mastercard credit card 2% to 3% depend on card variant.
Some RuPay debit card also charge more than 1% MDR from merchants on selected categories same like visa/mastercard debit card (these MDR charges are allowed with special arrangement between banks and merchants).
One more thing, currently, RuPay debit card zero MDR only for merchants. Banks still get MDR fees from govt. Govt announced Rs 1,500 crore-scheme to pay RuPay debit card/UPI MDR fees to banks. Recently, RuPay paid 700 crores to all RuPay debit card issuer/acquirer banks.
In fact, RuPay charge very low network switching fees from banks compare with Visa/mastercard. Also banks dnt need to pay any other types of fees for RuPay card like annual/quarterly fees, BIN issuing fees, network maintenance fees, also no penalty to banks for bad services.
Last thing is HDFC, ICICI, SBI etc are the owner of RuPay card. The more RuPay cards they issue, the more profit bank will make in future.
